He was running a little late, demons always chose to attack at the worst possible moment and today had been no exception. He had dispatched them quickly since he wasn't in the mood to actually toy with them and make them suffer in agonising pain for several minutes, but it had still made him five minutes late.

He spotted Yuna immediately and strode over to her, inclining his head. "I apologise for being late. Something came up." That something was also very obvious because his trench coat was slashed in several places and he still had dust on his clothes, the only remains of the demons.

"It's fine," Yuna shook her head, taking in his appearance and understanding immediately what had happened. Gesturing for him to sit down, she stared intently at her cup of tea. She'd never been good at making smalltalk, but getting straight to the point seemed awfully rude. Then again, it was better just to get this over with. "I guess," she hesitated for a moment. "You want to know why I asked you to come here?"

"That would be useful." Vergil agreed as he sat down. If anyone else had asked him for this kind of meeting he would have given them the brush off immediately, but he and Yuna had once been quite close and he had valued what she had to say in the past.

"I want to ask you a favour." It was an unusually bold statement from her, delivered without any hesitation or pause. Gazing at him, she continued in a calm, quiet voice, "...about someone we both know. Naoki."

Naoki, now that was a name he did not want to hear for a while. He had regained his honour and put the demifiend back in his place and that had been all that mattered to him, it wasn't necessary for him to keep the pest on his mind. "What about Naoki?" How does she even know Naoki?

"I want you to leave him alone," Yuna said simply, sipping at her cup of tea. She wasn't sure how this would be received -probably with protests and questions-, but she had at least some faith in her ability to convince him. Even if their relationship was less than friendly now, they'd been close for a year and been through several hardships. She didn't much like him any more, but that still bonded them together, in a sense. "Don't go after him any more. Tell your contracter to find someone else for the job, I know you've done it before when a job doesn't interest you."

Vergil would have immediately refused this proposal if they had met up a few days earlier, but at this moment it actually suited him rather well. He'd already put the demifiend back in his place and he was never that interested in money, so it wasn't too troublesome. "Fine. You have my word that I wont touch him unless he starts something with me."

Yuna blinked, looking surprised. Something must've... She was naive, but she wasn't stupid. Something had happened between her last meeting with Naoki and today. "You've already fought him, haven't you?" she questioned.
