Girlfriend [log]

May 15, 2007 20:09

Who: Axel [roxascomplex], Roxas [oathtooblivion] and Sakura [adversarykills]
Where: Roxas' house
When: May 14th/15th, around midnight
Summary: Axel is back from his visit to Organization XIII's headquarters, so to celebrate, like the responsible adult he is, he persuades Roxas and Sakura into having a drink. Or two. Or twenty. Cue Axel proclaiming his apparent love for Roxas through song, an extremely hyper Sakura, and an amusingly over-the-top OOC Roxas.
Notes: Pretty much inspired by this log, we thought 'HAY WHAT IF AXEL GOT ROXAS DRUNK' aaaaand it all went downhill from there. XD; Sorry, Rox.

It was early in the evening, the dark just settling in over the top of the house, the few last shades of light leaving the rooms to be left behind in greyscale. Sakura was sat in her chair in her room - which was beginning to look more like a room, since she now actually had posessions - dressed in one of her usual gothic lolita dresses, a small head set in her hair, gazing at the computer screen, swining her legs slightly as she looked up at it. For the past couple of hours, she'd been - well, searching, but also drawing. She was drawing a replica of one of her feathers.. she figured if she could have a drawing of it, then she'd find it easier. However, it was taking a lot longer than she expected, and was now, admittedly, bored.

There was a knock on the door, despite the fact Sakura had left her bedroom door wide open, more to announce entrance than anything. This was Roxas' own house, yet he never went into Sakura's room, both to respect her privacy and the fact - well - it was a girl's room, somewhere no guy should venture, especially not without permission. Hesitantly, he glanced around, his eyes straying to the computer screen for a second in evident curiosity before resting on Sakura. "Hey... mind if I come in? You're not busy?"

Looking over her shoulder as she heard the knock, she brushed away the hair out of her eyes and a faint smile lingered on her face, spinning round on the chair to face him. "No... I'm rather... bored," she admitted, looking back and forth, brushing her arms for imaginary dirt. "Of course.. of course you can come in."

Roxas limped inside, trying not to seem too nosy about her room by keeping his gaze on her. "Well... I wanted to ask..." he paused, looking awkward as he thought of the best way to go about telling her what he wanted to say. "Axel's managed to talk me into having a sorta... celebration," He paused and made a face that suggested he wasn't sure just why he'd agreed in the first place, and continued, "For him moving in and all. He's gonna get drinks and stuff... so I was wondering if you wanted to join us?"

Sakura clasped her hands together, resting them slightly on her legs, her face conciderate. "If you're asking... I'd... I'd love to..." she said slowly. If they wanted her to be there, she would gladly partake, but if they didn't, she keep to herself.

"Alright," Roxas said with a faint smile, but he didn't look all that enthusiastic. "I'm just waiting for Axel to show up... I bet he's just doing this to try and get me drunk in the first place." If Axel did get Roxas drunk, Axel would undoubtedly never let Roxas hear the end of it. Roxas had never been drunk before, and he didn't want to any time soon - he had the worst feeling he'd wind up making an idiot out of himself.

Sakura bit her lower lip in thought, gesturing for Roxas to sit down in a seat near to her (he was, afterall, still finding it difficult to walk, and extended periods standing up would probably cause his leg more damage). Looking back up at the screen and the half-drawn feather, she said quietly, "I've.. drunk before.." Too bad she never remembered what happened when she was drunk.

Roxas gratefully accepted her offer and took a seat, also biting his lip - but in his case to stifle a laugh. Sakura seemed like the last person he'd expect to drink. "I'm gonna try not to drink too much... Axel says he'll be 'responsible' for us and all that, but I don't believe a word of it," he grinned faintly, his gaze following Sakura's and straying back to the computer screen. His curiosity won him over and he finally asked, "What's that...? A drawing?"

Sakura smiled quietly to herself at that - if Axel was anything to go by, she doubted he wouldn't want to get Roxas drunk, or would just keep persuading him until it got out of hand. As he asked the question, her eyes glazed over slighty, her face distant. "It's a feather... my feather."

"...Oh," Roxas blinked, unsure of how to respond to that, half waiting for an explanation. "Is it special to you?" he guessed.

Sakura gazed up at it for a while longer, before managing to tear herself away from watching it, blinking several times for the lack of blinking in the last few minutes. "Yes.." she said shortly, biting her lip again. ".. remember I said that I.. that I lost my memories...?"

"Yeah," Roxas replied, suddenly looking uncomfortable as he looked away from the screen and back at Sakura. "You did."

"That's what they are..." Sakura replied, now not looking at Roxas, staring sideways away from him, her cheeks slightly tinged red. "... my feathers... my soul... my heart... lost.."

Roxas' eyes temporarily widened, but narrowed again just as quickly, masking his surprise. "...Did you just say you lost... your heart?"

Sakura was oblivious to Roxas' reaction - for one thing, she wasn't even looking at him. "Yes... it's.... hard to explain.. I lost my feathers... and I was nothing more than a shell... lifeless... but I'm gradually getting them back..." she ran her finger absently along the desk in thought, debating what to say next.

"But... that would mean..." he trailed off, evidently lost in his own thoughts, and shook his head silently. Eventually, he said quietly, "...Weird coincidences."

Sakura paused, and looked over at Roxas. "What do you mean, Roxas-san...?"

Roxas debated with himself for a moment on his reply, and looked away from Sakura and at the floor. As much as he trusted Sakura... now wasn't a good time to get into that sort of discussion. "It doesn't matter."

Despite Roxas' reply, Sakura knew it did matter, but she knew better than to push replies out of people. She'd been brought up that way - and it was just courtesy to let people keep to themselves if they wanted to. Changing the topic, she eventually managed to say, "Axel-san's.. he's coming back tonight, isn't he?" Afterall, he had been out all week. She wasn't too worried - but then again, Sakura easily worried about anyone, and the three of them were - sort of - housemates...

Roxas was grateful for the change of topic; most other people Roxas knew would continually poke him about it until either of them gave up. He looked slightly relieved until she mentioned Axel, and his expression reverted back to a frown. "I hope so," he said shortly.

Spinning round on the chair and standing upright, she walked slowly over to Roxas, kneeling down on the floor next to him, her eyes thoughtful, one source of light in the dark lit room. "You're... worried?" she asked kindly.

"N-No!" Roxas spluttered indignantly, but not quite meeting her eye. Eventually he gave in under her gaze, and muttered, "...Well, maybe."

"I'm sure Axel-san would.. be happy to hear that..." she replied, a faint smile appearing on her face, though there was some slight amusment there - or remaniscence, of the past, when she was with her other companions. Slowly, Sakura placed a warm hand on top of Roxas', and nodded slowly to herself, then spoke up. "But.. if there's.. anything I can do to ease your pain.. I'm... I'm right here.."

"He-- what-- pain?!" Roxas couldn't even string a sentence together under the beating his pride was taking. How did this happen? "I'm not that worried!"

A small laugh escaped from Sakura - not out of mockery of Roxas. Just by the fact it reminded her so much of a past situation - and it was a proper laugh. No strings. No tricks. It was true - which was a first for a very, very long time. "I'm sorry..." she said, wiping some tears that were building in her eyes. "I shouldn't... shouldn't laugh.. this just reminded me of... something from before.."

Roxas, apparently, was so surprised at her real laughter that he forgot all about his indignation. "I'm glad you find me amusing," he replied, trying to sound annoyed, but unable to conceal a small smile. "But I'm seriously not that worried. Axel's more than capable of taking care of himself; he has so far."

"I'm sorry..." Sakura repeated, quickly wiping any remaining tears on her face and concealing herself. Despite Roxas' indignation that he wasn't worried, she could tell he probably had been. He'd been a lot more on edge since Axel left about a week before tonight - she herself, as an almost stranger, was worried, so Roxas would be more worried than she was. "Lets hope he.. he comes back soon."

"Y-yeah," Roxas said, looking away and rubbing the back of his head embarassedly. He didn't want to say anything else, lest he incriminate his case about Axel further.

Before Sakura could reply however, she jumped to her feet in fright as a loud crash sounded from downstairs - burglers? No, the house is l-locked... "What was that?" Sakura asked nervously, looking at Roxas, slight fear creeping back into her face.

Roxas stood and didn't reply for a moment, his eyes fixed intently on the door as though expecting something to burst through. When nothing or nobody did, however, he said quietly, "It might be Axel. Lets go... be careful, in case it's not him."

Sakura clutched her hands together by her side, and nodded, trying to look braver than she actually felt. "O-okay..." she said slowly, leading the way to the door, which would lead to the stairs, which would lead to... whatever had made the noise.

Roxas followed, taking advantage of the concealing darkness once they were outside Sakura's room to summon his Keyblade - which, as with most people Roxas knew, he wanted to keep a secret from her if he could. In his condition, even if there was an intruder, he wouldn't be able to do much fighting with it, but it was better to at least have some form of self-defense than walk in entirely unarmed. "Quiet, if someone's broken in they probably don't know we're here," he said in a low voice.

Once they were down the stairs, Roxas paused at the living room door, listening intently. The sound had come from here, so the intruder was, most likely, still there unless he'd fled after the sound. Pressing a finger to his lips to indicate Sakura should continue to be silent, he gestured as if to indicate they should both enter at the same time.

Sakura gulped nervously as Roxas turned to her, and nodded, placing a hand on Roxas' shoulder for support - more so in the fact she was scared. Despite being more 'trained' these days, she was still easily scared by things like this.

And so, they took the plunge out into the lit room - only to be met with an unexpected sight.

A disgruntled figure was sat admit the remains of a broken table, pulling loose pieces of wood out from underneath him and tossing them aside. "Who put that there?" he cursed under his breath, before looking up at the two surprised teenagers in front of him. Finding he'd been caught guilty, he waved nervously. "Yo?"

Reflexedly, Roxas had placed his Keyblade so close to Axel's face the moment he saw him that it was almost touching his nose. He glared down at him and made no move to remove the Keyblade even when he'd had enough time to take in that it was Axel, and not an intruder. "What the heck are you doing?" he demanded.

Axel would have complained at the lack of 'welcome back' from Roxas, but now was not the time to complain with a near keyblade-in-the-face regime. "Well, I was coming back, and this table was here," he said shortly, eyeing the keyblade with caution. In reality, he probably just miscalculated and broke it. "And I broke it."

"Stupid," Roxas replied, wearily dismissing his Keyblade in a flash of light but still glaring at Axel. "We thought someone could've broken into the house," he shook his head, and as if to end the discussion with no questions asked, added, "You're paying to replace it."

Sakura looked between the two of them, relieved Roxas had finally got rid of his weapon, and Axel no longer looked like he was about to be decapitated any second. She didn't get a chance to reply, however.

Axel stood upright, lifting up a bag, that despite his expedition upon arriving, seemed unscathed and perfectly fine. Pulling the top of one open, he smirked slightly, nodding to the pair of them. "I got them drinks."

Exasperated at the subject change, Roxas nonetheless peered into the bag, then back up at Axel suspiciously. "What've you brought so much for? There's only three of us, if you didn't notice."

"I didn't know what you wanted," Axel replied quite calmly, motioning for the pair of them to sit on the coach (which, despite the table break, seemed to have pulled through completely unmarked as always), lowering the bag carefully back to the floor.

"I don't know, either," Roxas admitted, still looking suspicious of Axel as he took a seat. "...I've never really had alcohol before."

Sakura followed suit after Roxas, sitting neatly next to him and looking a little bit embarrassed about the entire situation. "I.. I've had.." she stumbled on her words, before shaking her head and saying eventually, ".. I think I was given... sake."

Axel raised an eyebrow. This 'innocent' looking teenager wasn't as innocent as she first appeared. Looking back to Roxas, he grinned, before reaching into the bag and pulling out one of the bottles. He tapped it lightly against his head, before saying to him, "we'll find out then, hmm?"

Roxas' reaction to Sakura was akin to Axel's, but for the sake of politeness he wouldn't comment on it. When it came to Sakura, looks were becoming more and more decieving. He rolled his eyes at Axel, moodily replying, "I hate the way you looked at me when you said that."

Axel's face remained how it had been previously, but a slight, somewhat perverted smirk appeared on his face, before pulling up a few glasses from nowhere, and handing one to each of them, and opening one of the many bottles he had posession of.

Roxas took the glass from Axel (or more accurately, snatched it), now resorting to just ignoring that creepy expression plastered all over Axel's face, by instead looking at Sakura. "What's sake like?"

Sakura took the glass calmly from Axel, wrapping her fingers around it, part of her knowing something was bound to go bad here. At Roxas' question, she winced a little, before blushing slightly. "I... I don't remember..." she said truthfully. This, was probably due to the fact that she managed to get drunk too easily than was possible.

Roxas seemed to have worked out as much for himself from her reaction, because he grinned slightly and didn't question her further. "Then maybe you shouldn't drink much tonight."

"Maybe... maybe not," Sakura agreed, the slight blush coming back into her cheeks as she took to staring at the empty glass in front of her.

"Hey..." said Axel, looking sounding slightly irritated, but his face showed otherwise. "You two going to stop doubting and just live and let live?" he said shortly, taking to pouring out the contents of the bottle between the three of them. "We're supposed to be celebrating here, right?"

"Alright, alright..." Roxas said defeatedly, lowering his gaze to his drink. He was being a little too uptight about the whole thing, and as long as he didn't have too much, he'd be fine. "So what's this stuff called?"

"No idea!" Axel replied, perhaps just a little bit too cheerfully, looking back at the bottle, which didn't paticularly have a brand inscribed upon it. Moving on swiftly though, he raised his glass into the air, looking thoughtful for a few seconds. "I propose a toast."

"A toast? To what...?" Sakura asked, hesitantly following suit.

"To... being roommates?" Roxas suggested, and after a moment also raised his glass. "And to Axel coming back."

Sakura nodded brightly. Axel merely smiled once again, clinking his glass carefully against there's. "I'll drink to that."

***

Several hours and empty glass bottles later, the darkness outside was absolute save for the illumination of the streetlights, and the pale moon higher above. The stillness and silence suggested it was the early hours of the morning, and nothing stirred - that is, until a loud shout penetrated the quiet, enough even to wake the birds outside, sending them fluttering in positive alarm and away from the source of the strange noise.

A slightly confused Axel was stood over the sound system he had somehow smuggled in, staring at it with lopsided eyes, grumbling, then kicking it in an attempt to make it work. Surprisingly, when he did that...

"Oooooh! The song's starting!!" Sakura jumped up and over, smiling broadly and was clearly, very, very drunk, her face glittering like stars.

Roxas, on the other hand, did not seem noticeably intoxicated to an observer of his appearance. But any ideas that he might not have been were thrown entirely out of the window when he chirped enthusiastically, "The song?! What song?!" and jumped up after Sakura, promptly toppling back down for what was possibly the hundredth time that evening because he had forgotten entirely about his injured leg.

Sakura ran over to Roxas (and almost fell over him in his over-hyperactive-state), opened her mouth to reply, but then changed tactic, beaming widely, and said in a very loud voice, "I don't know!" It was clear she did know - when Sakura lied when she was drunk, it was pretty obvious she was doing it. "You'll have to wait and see!!"

He frowned in reply, but that was because he was trying to figure out just why he kept on falling over in the first place. If there was a reason, Roxas couldn't think of it, and he was so baffled by the entire thing he didn't seem to notice nor care about Sakura lying. "If it's a secret, I won't tell anyone if you don't," he said, his face deadly serious, as though was very important that he should know.

Sakura bent down to his height, her hands on her knees, her face also deadly serious and set. "It's a very, very, very big secret.." she started, but never got around to finishing.

"Hey! Sakura! You singing with me or what?" Axel replied, spinning round haphazardly but avoiding hitting any of the many sake and various other drained alcohol bottles littering the side.

"ONE MINUTE!" she replied loudly, stomping her foot on the floor and looking momentarily annoyed, before returning to staring at Roxas with the same fixated stare. "It's an old, old song," she nodded, her face serious. "But I know it. I've heard it before. So me and Axel are singing it." she nodded again, this time a bit more enthusiastically.

"Then stop keeping him waiting and go sing it!" Roxas roared, his manner changing instantly and a large, lopsided grin on his face as he reached for yet another bottle - which he was fully intending on keeping to himself.

Sakura was about to reach over and start a cat fight with Roxas over who got the bottle, but was broken off by a rather annoyed Axel, who tossed her a microphone, which she somehow managed to catch.

"AND THIS SONG IS FOR ROXAS!" Axel said brightly, nodding away to himself as Sakura came to stand next to him, mumbling the words Axel said right after he said them, in a rather irritating manner. "Because I like this song, and I want to sing it, and I think you'll..." he looked down at Sakura, a frown on his face. "...Will you cut that out?"

Sakura smiled innocently up at him. "Meow?"

Axel sighed, and shook his head, turning to Roxas. "So Roxas, sit back, relax, and enjoy!"

Roxas looked very dazed at that, apparently his own extremely drunken way of acting flattered. "I'll keep--" A hiccup interrupted him mid-sentence, then he recovered and continued, "...t-the song a secret, I promise."

Axel sighed, momentarily amused by the state Roxas had lowered himself too while drunk out of his mind. Despite also being pretty drunk, Axel still had his wits - unlike the two teens. But he brightened up moments later, turning to Sakura, putting one head on top of the stero and the other in the air, pointing as he said each number, though not in exactly the same spot each time. "Okay. A one, a two, a one two three four!"

The music started up full blast, and after two claps on the soundtrack, Sakura took her cue. "Hey hey you you.."

"I don't like your girlfriend!" Axel said, pointing at Roxas, a really over the top grin on his face.

"No way no way...!"

"I think you need a new one," Axel continued, still pointing at the drunken figure of Roxas.

"Hey hey you you!"

"I could be your girlfriend!" Axel pointed to himself, a big, cheesey, smirk appearing on his face.

"She's not my girlfriend," Roxas grumbled, and although it wasn't very obvious, he was referring to Rikku. Despite that, however, he watched the two of them amusedly (while ensuring his bottle was what he deemed to be far out of Sakura's reach).

Sakura looked disgruntled as she saw Roxas move it, but was soon brought back into singing, completely off-tone, but she was getting better. "Hey hey you you!"

"I know that you like me!"

"No way no way!"

"You know.. it's not a secret," Axel said, taking to parading round as if the living room was his stage, getting pumped even though he was only a few lines in.

"Hey hey you you!"

"I want to be your girlfriend!" Axel said, pausing momentarily in his prancing to point at Roxas once again.

There was a short interval before the verse started, in which Sakura took to dancing around, attempting to make a grab for Roxas' bottle he had stashed supposedly out of reach, but was pulled back by Axel as the small intersection came to an end. "You're so fine I want you mine you're so delicious, I think about you all the time you're so addictive, don't you know what I can do to make you feel alright!" he chanted, Sakura chipping in right at the end, in which he shot her a glare before continuing.

"Don't pretend I think you know I'm damn precious, and hell yeah, I'm the mother fucking princess, I can tell you.." he pointed forcefully at Roxas, ".. like me too and you know I'm right!"

Noting Sakura's near grab of his bottle, Roxas had snatched it and took a swig as if to spite her - but as soon as Axel started the verse he almost spat it out again - he managed to choke his mouthful down before he could... and then stopped restraining himself from what he'd been trying to do all along and burst into laughter. The lyrics, coupled with Axel singing them, were just too damn funny.

Axel carried on smirking, and continued, "She's like..."

Sakura suddenly appeared on Roxas' right hand side, bright eyed, as if to grasp for the bottle but really just clinging to his shoulder to support her drunken state, and to sing. "So whatever!" she shot with surprising agility to his other side, singing, "You can do, so much better!"

She ran back off to Axel after that, Axel coming forward slightly so he was right in front of Roxas, pointing a hand at him. "I think we should get together now...." he turned to Sakura slightly, and they both nodded, singing in unison, "And that's what everyone's talking about!"

The familiar chorus came back, Axel strutting round the room as if he owned the place, directing all his line straight at Roxas. Sakura, on the other hand, continued to sing away loudly, going round the room and looking under various places for a bottle that had not yet been drained, and finding one, proceeded to cling to it like a madwoman holding a gun, looking very smug as she stared in Roxas' direction.

Roxas, at the chorus, decided to join in singing very loudly (even if he didn't know half the words, but he wasn't that bad a singer, to compensate). He stopped only temporarily to glare at Sakura in return of her smug expression, for a moment looking like he was going to dive on her and wrestle the bottle off her. Eventually he settled for waving his own bottle tauntingly in her direction and giving an uncharaceristic wink.

Sakura stuck her tongue out in return, making a noise sounding similar to 'BEEEH!', choosing to drink some out of her own, only to get in the way of Axel prancing and almost spill it down herself. She shot him a glare, which, Axel didn't see - he was once again singing solo on the verse.

"I can see the way, see the way you look at me, and even when you look away I know that you think of me, I know you talk about me all the time again and again..." he sang, making his way over to stand right behind where Roxas was sitting.

"So come!!" Sakura squeaked, somewhat out of tune, making a dash to glomp Roxas but in the process but failing miserably and ending up as a giggling mess on the floor on her back, still clutching the bottle. She was ignored by Axel, who just continued on singing, "So come over here and tell me what I wanna hear, better yet, make the girlfriend disappear! I don't wanna hear you say her name ever again..."

Admidst her giggling, Sakura somehow remembered it was her turn to sing, and managed to giggle out, "And again, and again, and again!"

Roxas crept up to Sakura - or tried to at least look stealthy - and reached out and snatched her microphone, deciding to steal her spotlight. "--She's like, so whatever," he interrupted, staggering up and over to Axel to lean on him, "You can do, so much better!" Apparently forgetting the rest of the words, he glanced back to Axel as if to say he could continue.

Axel was momentarily surprised at the sudden change of events - he hadn't expected Roxas to come up and sing. He was next to certain he'd be the only one to remember any of this in the morning, so it gave to make it fun while it lasted. He took his free hand, touching Roxas' chin with his finger and proceeding to lift up his chin so he was looking right at him. "I think we should get together now..." he sang softly, his drunken voice unusually serious, his gaze set straight on Roxas.

Roxas stared back at Axel, his expression equally serious and indifferent to the fact their faces had become very, very close. He was apparently just leading Axel on, however, because a moment later his face broke into a wide grin and pulled away, continuing loudly, "And that's what everyone's talking about!"

Falling over sideways, Axel found himself on the floor - partially, because he had been leaning over to some extent and lost balance. Looking thoroughly unimpressed (but there was still the same smirk present on his face), he made his way to get up - and noiced his mike was absent.

Sakura was the culprit, waving it around in mid air with keen accuracy for someone so drunk, running up to stand next to Roxas. "Hey hey you you!"

Roxas, who had still been using Axel as a support, toppled down and on top of him before Axel had much of a chance to get up. He seemed totally oblivious to that fact, sitting up with a large, lopsided grin. "I don't like your girlfriend!" Imitating Axel, he did an over-the-top gesture to point at Sakura.

Axel's face seemed dead-pan for a few seconds as Roxas grinned at him (since it was kind of awkward), till a grin to rival Roxas' appeared on his face. This was like something he only dared to imagine. Getting Roxas drunk? Best idea he'd had in ages.

"No way, no way!" Sakura sang, doing an over the top dance on the spot, her hair shaking all over the place as she spun full circle.

"I think you need a n-new one," Roxas' voice wavered as he half-hiccuped, then laughed to himself at it, still ignoring Axel except to toss the microphone back to him.

"Hey hey you you!"

Axel caught the microphone with one hand, proceeding to sing straight into it with his line, nudging Roxas in the side slightly. "I could be your girlfriend..."

"Hey hey you you!"

"I know that you like me..." Axel smirked, his voice becoming softer after each line.

"No way no way!"

"You know.. it's not a secret..."

"Hey hey you you!"

"I want to be your girlfriend!" Axel proclaimed right at the end of the chorus, his voice suddenly increasing in volume, making to stand up but the drink had gone to his head, so only suceeding in almost loosing balance and falling over into Roxas, again.

Roxas, despite Axel almost falling into him, hadn't budged an inch as if he hadn't even noticed. Instead he merely stared up at Axel, once again reverting alarmingly quickly back to being serious, and asked, "Do you really mean all of that?" He was drunk out of his mind, yet he was apparently still observant enough to notice the passion with which Axel was singing (or, more likely, he was just taking the lyrics literally).

The next verse came into play - but Sakura found herself singing it solo, but she didn't notice - she was too caught up in it, dancing and running around without a care in the world, occasionally almost falling over or running into something and giving said object a disgruntled glare, before returning to singing. What had happened to Axel?

The song was forgotten to him. Or, momentarily, at least. Roxas' question had got him thinking - pulling himself upright again, the same sincere look that was on his face everyday of his life returned. "Have I ever given you a reason to think I'm lying?" he questioned calmly. Reasling he hadn't exactly answered the question, he added, ".. of course."

Roxas merely looked bemused at that; Axel, as far as he knew, had never directly lied to him, but he did have a tendency to secrecy and withholding the truth, so his sincerity wasn't entirely believable. "If you say so," he shrugged, of a mind Axel was just mocking him.

Before he even knew what he was doing, Axel was right in front of Roxas' face - very, very close, seeing the somewhat distant look in Roxas' blue eyes clearly, his own serious - probably the most serious he'd been in a long time. A small, slight smile curled on the bottom of his mouth, before leaning sideways, and... kissing Roxas on the cheek, no hesitating present. He pulled back slightly, and breathed deeply straight into Roxas' ear, saying softly. "I'm always serious when it comes to you."

Roxas shivered involuntarily, unused to such close physical contact - in any normal state of mind he would have already been too uncomfortable and pulled away. He simply frowned, however, meeting Axel's now extremely serious gaze with mixed confusion and dumbfounded disbelief, as though he hadn't quite processed what had just happened. Because he was too confused to reply, he said absently, "So was she when she kissed me."

Axel's eyes flickered with a bright spark of red - anger, crossed with jealousy, crossed with curiousity. "What...?" he asked shortly, though he thought he'd already figured it out. Putting two and two together when one was drunk usually led to the long conclusion, but Axel was pretty sure he'd hit it right on the nose.

"What what?" Roxas repeated idly, Axel's reaction going unnoticed as he was distracted by watching Sakura still singing to herself. He evidently hadn't realised the significance of what he'd just let slip. "I said she was serious. Rikku, that is."

Rikku. Ah. was all that ran through Axel's head. His anger seemed to increase slightly, his eyes flickering a few more times before he blinked it away, his face remaining set. What came next was a result of being drunk, partially - though he remembered significant thought into doing it. Putting a hand on Roxas' shoulder, he pulled him to himself, into what was clearly a hug - or, in reality, was more like a cling. "You're mine. She can't have you," he said, jealousy driving him straight to being posessive.

Roxas would have normally argued fiercely against that, but he tolerated Axel enough to reply, "I turned her down a while ago, haven't seen her since," Axel already knew that, but he apparently needed reminding. "Whatever she says about still liking me, I think hates me for it. So--" he looked at Axel with a hint of his usual sternness, "--you can let go of me now."

Sakura, oblivious to.. well, any of the events that had happened between Roxas and Axel in the past few minutes, finally noticed she was singing alone. Seemingly popping up out of nowhere as Axel began to reluctantly let go off Roxas, she jumped on them, screaming something along the lines of 'GROUP HUG!' though was lost in translation, due to the sheer volume in which she said it.

Roxas hadn't even had a chance to recover from Axel's unintentionally tight and rib-squashing hug when Sakura pounced on him, and he narrowly dodged out of the way to save any remaining air in his lungs. "Can we stop with the hugging?" he said, but was unable to help but laugh.

Axel was just as surprised as Roxas was, and perhaps unprepared for it, his anger at Rikku seemingly forgotten - afterall, he was not prone to give hugs to anyone except Roxas, and had never actually recieved one, whether it be intentional or unintentional. "If she gets off me, yeah," he replied, though it was obvious he didn't really care either way. Sakura sticking around meant he could hug Roxas longer, if you thought about it.

Sakura's eyes filtered with tears that had definately not been there moments before, and next second she was a drivvling mess, crying into Roxas' shoulder, before apologising profusely and clinging to them both again. "I'm sorry," she weeped, her crying becoming over the top. Till she remembered... "Oh! The last lines of the song!" suddenly cheering up with unimagined speed, she turned straight to Axel, instantly getting off Roxas. "SING WITH ME, AXEL-CHAN! Please..."

Roxas was at a loss; one moment she'd been sobbing her eyes out and the next she was completely fine and wanted to sing again? Talk about mood swings (not that he was one to talk, he'd been switching between calm, hyper and serious all evening himself). "Go on," Roxas nudged Axel, grinning amusedly. "She might cry again if you don't."

Prising Sakura's hands off him, he sighed slightly, smiling to himself for a few seconds, before nodding. "Alright!" he beamed, managing to bring himself upright out of the people-pile he'd found himself in. "You're ready, aren't you?" he turned to Sakura, who nodded enthusiastically, proceeding to carry on with the song.

"Hey hey he-e-e-y!"

"I know that you like me!"

"No wa-a-a-a-y!"

"You know it's not a secret!"

"Hey hey he-e-e-y!"

"I want to be your girlfriend!" Axel finished, before Sakura ran right up to him to sing the last line together. "No way, no way, hey hey!"

As the song ended and receeded into silence, Roxas, apparently back into his silly mood, raised the remainder of his drink and proclaimed, "To Axel wanting to be my girlfriend!" and threw his head back, draining every last drop in the bottle. For a moment he looked surprised at his accomplishment, grinned gloatingly at Axel and Sakura... then his expression rapidly changed and he looked like a heavy anvil had swung and hit him on the head, as the alcohol took effect. "M'alright..." he slurred dazedly.

"Avril Lavigne, 2007. Priceles..." Axel started, before noticing that Roxas was looking like something had seriously hit him in the face. Raising an eyebrow, he paused. "Hey.. hey... wait!" Axel yelled, as Sakura brushed straight past him to sit right next to Roxas, with a face full of genuine worry, though it was more than likely going to skip back to being as insane as anything in the next few seconds.

"I think that might have been a bit too much," she commented, nodding away with a very stern glare on her face, that looked more comical than anything else.

Pushing her aside a little (so that Sakura almost fell sideways), Axel sat beside Roxas. "You alright there?"

"...Hah," Roxas said feebly, blinking unfocused eyes at nothing in particular and swaying dangerously into Axel. "Gonna be right... as rain in a sec... yup," he would have nodded to himself at this point, but his incredible dizziness was making his head spin enough as it was.

Axel placed a hand firmly on Roxas' shoulder, debating what to say next. "Maybe we should call it a night."

He never recieved a reply from Roxas, however, because Roxas' eyes had flickered shut and the bottle slipped out of his hands. Unceremoniously he fell fowards into Axel, unconcious, although by his expression it looked more like he had just dozed off.

Axel wasn't prepared for that, at all - and neither had he expected it, so just blinked for a few, long seconds before finally shaking his head and chuckling to himself.

"Meoooow... maybe I should take him upstairs," Sakura said cheefully, appearing behind the side of the couch, her fingers curling over the edge of it like a cats' claws would. Despite the drunken outlook, she was sincere.

"No." Axel placed his other hand on Roxas' other shoulder, pushing him back sligtly so he looked like a sleeping doll, but keeping him steady at the same time. "I'll do it," he replied, glancing once at Sakura, then receeding to stand upright, but at the same time, taking Roxas with him: so when he was at full height, he was literally carrying Roxas out in front of him, one arm beneath his legs and the other around his shoulders. He was surprisingly light, a lot lighter than he thought he would be, at least.

Sakura blinked, watching without saying anything at all, before standing upright herself. "You really... care for him, don't you?"

"It's more than that," Axel replied, looking sideways at Sakura, finally pulling his gaze away from the sleeping Roxas. "But it doesn't matter," he added. It wasn't like he could tell her, or wanted to tell her.

"I'm listening," she replied, striding forwards cheerfully to smile down at Roxas with the same sisterly smile she always had when looking at him.

"He means the world to me...." Once again, he was back to doing things on impulse. Keeping his eyes on Sakura, as if debating whether she would remember any of this in the morning and the danger it might hold if it did, he spoke half way through that trail of thought - not a good idea, but his brain wasn't working as it usually would anyway. "Come to think of it..." he started, beginning to walk to the stairwell, Sakura following obediantly. ".. I think I.."

"Yes?" she asked, following him up the stairs slowly, gripping to the handle in caution at the fact she was still prone to falling over.

Even Axel sounded surprised at his next words. "I think I've.. fallen in love with him, Sakura."
