I have always felt that the fun stuff in life is even better if there are lovely talented intelligent women around to share in the experience. You seem to appreciate this as well.
I am old enough to remember when women were still being told that young women are not allowed to do some activities "that is a boys only activity". Our household was very pro women's rights. I still have some job sites that when I walk onto them with a female assistant the attitude that women should never be involved in heavy construction rears it's ugly head. The worst was when I was called to a job site to confirm the details on the drawings because the PE that had stamped the sheet was a woman and the site foreman did not trust any woman to be able to the engineering "math" (I was pissed as hell).
So, I raise a glass to you. I wish you many more Urbex excursions and may you find more adventurous fun loving guides (of both genders) to watch your back.
Despite appearances, the reason I'm always exploring with women is because they have proven to be more reliable. They always show up when they say they will.
So far, I've only had one male guide that didn't cancel. And even he didn't show up until after I was already inside the building.
Funny seein the 'charmcity' community. The guys I know in BMore refer to themselves as Harm CityYeah, that is the common twist on the "Charm City" moniker the locals have hung on Baltimore
( ... )
On a couple of recent visits to Baltimore, the volume of abandoned or on hold during renovations buildings were tempting to explore, but the risk of running into other people and not having anyone who knew the territory to go with scratched that idea. Nice exterior details and stone work though, with some still having enough paint on them to make out original advertisements.
I also checked out the images that anthrochica posted.
It is very interesting how different the two of you shot the same building at the same time.
I hope you keep finding more great places to explore.
