Fort Beeswax

Revolutionary War Fort (1700s) refortified and outfitted with artillery for WWII. Cool ass shit.

The denizens of this place on this day included taggers who were walking around in broad daylight and spraying like it was legal. A more discreet group that holed up in an underground chamber, sparked up a bunch of weed and toked until their flashlights couldn't penetrate the smoke. I almost had to lead them out.

A sprawling cement complex with dozens of chambers and hallways carved into the granite cliffside. I kept finding more and more chambers to explore and certainly missed more than a few. Some of underground chambers on the lowest levels had up to six inches of water in them. But I found enough dry ones that it wasn't necessary for me to go wading. At one time, this place had been welded up tight, but the welds have corroded, and most of the entrances are now open.

The rails in the ceiling were used to tranport shells and powder to the guns.
