Well it's now only four weeks to go before I'm back at uni. Scary stuff, still can't get over how fast it has gone.
I need to start my dissertation, really soon, and think about how to develop my
'Random Acts of Kindness idea for the first semester. But my second semester, and my final one, will be all about one 'major' progect (like my self harm stuff in the first year and self portrait stuff in the second). I want to document the transition of 3 to 5 gender queer/trans males and females, probably through hormone treatment, through the transition of physical changes and then a small diary of the events that have taken place.
So I am looking for people in Cambridge or London (or the UK anywhere if it's hard to find people) to take part. I would probably go to them for the images or pay for travel for them to come to me. I'd like to start looking for and getting to know people now so that come my second term they would feel comfortable around me or know they couldn't go through with it.
I'm really quite excited about the prospect of this project, but I'm not looking forward to have to find people willing to take part. Self harm was so prevalent among my friends I only needed a couple of other people. This time I really am starting from the very beginning, even though I do know those who have or are transitioning non of them live close enough.
If any of you would like to know more/take part/suggest a friend/or tell me its not a good project then do get in touch. Any ideas of where to go to meet people would be great and any advice on the 'medical' side of things would also be appreciated.
Thanks guys :)
