It does, except that manic depression isn't has well timed, and it's usually up and downs non-stop, as opposed to a down, followed by an up and two weeks of balance.
It looks more like women hormonal cycle, exept that in my hormonal downs, I just feel drained and asexual, as opposed to having my emotions switching every minutes for no apparent reasons. And I don't have that week of bleeding, leaving me 2 weeks of peace instead of 1 !
