In meetings, not in general.
This afternoon I had told a coworker that I wasn't going to talk at this meeting unless it was necessary. I forgot to mention, "or unless I get bored."
When the meeting opens with me throwing crumpled up pieces of paper at coworkers, it doesn't bode well for my boredom level. Particularly when it's too bright and obvious for me to sleep. So instead I "participated."
Five minutes from the scheduled end of the meeting I threw in a suggestion, that wasn't even fully formed in my head. I don't know how good an idea it was or anything, it was very much an "off-the-top-of-my-head" idea.
People bought into it. Other people are digging into it. I just want to take it back. I know it's not a great idea. I know it has some issues. I don't know that it's the right or best solution. But geez, people, you stick me in a boring meeting for an hour, and sooner or later I am going to say something that makes some semblance of sense! Even if I should learn not to... (Last feature I came up with a "good idea" for ended up being cut...)
I'm going back to work now. I don't expect to accomplish much this evening, but I'll try.
(Three posts, one day? Something's obviously very wrong with this universe.)
