Daughter and I went to Brokeback Mountain last night. It was a very good film, and if Heath Ledger wins the Oscar, he will more than deserve it. I only teared up once,

I think the scenes with Jack's mom were my favorite of the whole movie. She so obviously knew, and wanted to say something, but couldn't, so said it in the only way she had open to her. A magnificent, understated, generally under-appreciated performance.

I find watching fractured relationships very painful. Once was enough for me.

Yah. I read the story and skipped the movie entirely. I knew going on Ice Storm it'd tear me up - still have only seen Ice Storm once...
