Happy New Year
I've been away from LJ for days, as my brother and sister-in-law were staying with me this week, and all the extended family festivities over Christmas and New Year's took place at my house this year. It was nice but stressful, in that 'I love my family, but they drive me crazy, and I was so busy over the holidays that now I need a holiday' way. I wish I could operate simultaneously in parallel universes, where I could do the whole family thing in one universe while I had a quiet, relaxing, no-stress holiday in the other. Come to think of it, I could use a parallel universe in nearly every aspect of my life. Too bad they don't sell them at Sears.
I can't say I'm sorry to say goodbye to 2005. I hope it's not bad karma to give the old year a swift kick in the arse on its way out.
