The term Latino and Latina are used nowadays when you are talking about men and women from Latin-America. In other words people from countries such as Venezuala, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Columbia etc. In 1997 the term Latina and Latino was introduced by the United States government as an official word. This word would replace the word Hispanic from the dictionnary as the only defintion for people coming from Middle America and Latin-America.

Now the definition about Latino and Latina is often used when we are talking about women and men who are good looking and come from the latin countries ( South America). The word will often be connected to people who are slightly colored and speak languages such as spanish or portugees.

Thinking of Latino and Latina there are countries that don't seem latin but really do count as: Switserland, France, Spain and Portugal.
Strange how people define Latin under the different countries
