Got up late, did laundry late, finally got my act together and grabbed materials and went off to campus to actually get something done. Worked at ERC until they closed and the Union for around 5 hours total. Philosophy of Middle School got more interesting and I actually got one of those ridiculously pointless forum posts out of the way. Only three to go. Finally checked the chat transcript for the group meeting I missed when I was off seeing RENT.* I hate this class and the way it's structured, but I love my group. So funny.
Okay, so the chats can be seen by the seven or so moderators/TAs even if they're not in the room with you or not engaged in your discussion. One of the moderators has a habit of responding to one person but sends the message to everyone (it's like, 50 people in 10 different "rooms"). So randomly, the group will get a message from him that "Erin's back" or something that doesn't pertain to the topic at hand. And the group is pretty much ignoring him, until one point where they suddenly break out in discussion of this moderator and "does he know he's doing that" and "who's Erin, I don't care" before they get back to the topic. One group member thought that we would have to write 10-15 page individually before the rest corrected him and the guy who's turning into my favorite group member says "man, this class has enough busy work" which I adore him for saying, because heck yeah, there is a lot of busy work for this course. Way more than the 2 credit hours I'm getting require here.
After my 5 hours of work (I think I would have stayed longer actually, but it was getting dark and while I don't care about walking a few blocks during the semester, the summer's a little unpopulated to be walking in the dark) I grabbed dinner and came back home, where I was going to work some more but got distracted by shiny online things. So shiny. And now it's 11pm and I'm debating whether to watch the movie for class (I could but would probably not write the forum post for it tonight, which means I'd forget half of what I need to write) or watch NCIS or read a book. I'm all caught up for tomorrow's class, and the Wings aren't playing until Tuesday (possibly to WIN the CUP - omg they shellacked Pittsburgh last night, best game ever!) so maybe start work again tomorrow?
Alright, tomorrow's agenda:
watch movie for EPS
write up forum post
Massive amounts of EPSY reading for Wednesday
write up forum comment (way easier than aforementioned forum post)
EPS reading and video for Wednesday
Start research for EPS mini-lesson groupwork
Buy headphones for stupid online classes - plan failed, there are apparently no headsets (at least, in my price range) with only one plug in, rather than separate microphones/headphones - my computer only has one plug in.
*So, RENT. We had awesome seats, though it was off to the side and we were seeing a lot of people's backsides, but it was okay (the show was not a sellout, btw, which I found odd - it was Thursday night show though, and Friday night's show was going to have a signing, so maybe they all tried for that one). The show was actually kind of a letdown for me, and I think it was just because it was hyped so much by everyone (Ashley) that I knew. And Ashley was totally correct: Adam Pascal seemingly cannot sing the part he originated. *shakes head* I don't know. And my back hurt, just like it did when we saw Wicked. Why can I not be pain free for a Broadway show? Predictably, I got turned around getting off the highway in St. Louis, and got lost for five minutes trying to locate the highway entrance to get out of St. Louis. I-64E apparently only marked by one sign. But we stopped at a suitably redneck Waffle House in Edwardsville and I hate a waffle and took some Tylenol and all was well again. I think perhaps this postscript should have merited its own post?
