Good day sad news at the end

Dec 12, 2007 17:53

So I've found that if you can keep 6th graders entertained and give them a semi-tangible incentive at the end one has to d less shouting

All in all the day was good. I got to sleep in till about 9 as I didn't have to be at work till 11:30, so I was in a really good mood when I got there. Tomorrow I go back to the same school for a whole day of more of the same.  It's  good to know that the teachers are looking forward to the break , more than the kids are. I think a lot of them are just white-knuckling it  tho.

I'm really sad to hear/read about pratchett.  I know it doesn't mean he's dead, and I know we'll have many years ahead to enjoy his talent, but I put it in the same type of sadness I feel, when I realize that Stephen King has been going blind for several years now.  (In a morbidly funny way i've noticed how his glasses seem to get larger as the years go by)  I cant say the same for the end of the vampire cronicles ( I.E. Anne Rice finding go after her husband stan's death.)  We have them, and we will miss her writting them, but as she has always said N.O. was more Stan's city that her's and  without him I can completely understand her switching tacks.

OH and 2 other things:

1 Is anyone doing anything for newyears ?  I honestly dont want to spend it here just watching specials on t.v. and I dont want to spend it like I did last year drinking alone . . . (actually I think I've done that the last 2 years but who's counting)  So I'm taking suggestions . .

2. Does anyone have any picts of me from the last game?  I'd like to make an LJ icon of me :)

that is all . . .
