"Hello," the lion purrs from behind her, having appeared on the silence characteristic of cat's feet. He does not believe he will frighten her, hardly. Aslan's muzzle forms a small smile, small for a lion of his stature anyway. His tail remains low but curved at the end, tuft swaying gently.

"I keep thinking I will find you everywhere," she tells him in all honesty, not turning to face him yet, still captured by the way sun moves in between the treetops like a gold shadow moves between two blinks of the eye.

"How are you?" she asks him, bowing with respect, a bend at the waist that brings her no more deeply inclined than she was however many hours ago, parting temporary ways with a smiling king of Narnia.

"You can if that is what suits you," he nods, padding closer to stand beside her before he tilts his head upward at the sun peeking between the branches. The trees seem to move under his gaze but one can just as easily say that it is the wind that moves them so.

"Well with a heart at rest," Aslan answers, his own head bowing to her respectfully. At his height a lion's bow barely brings him under her own height.

With a heart at rest. She marks his words with a tilt of her head before taking a few steps closer, averting her eyes for a moment or two. Looking at this great lion for even the fewest concentrated minutes makes her feel older and younger all at once. How fearsome...how grand.

"I suppose I really prefer to find any creature only somewhere, and sometimes."

If we found them every time, we might forget to truly look when we did. Minutes pass, many of them, enough that any other two beings might have just gone separate ways by now, but these two are made of much patience, at times and this is one of those instances. When she does speak again, it is without apology.

He was devastated, she recalls clearly what she already knows the one who stands before her is aware of. A true oddity, this is the second time in less than twenty-four hours that she lets what melancholy rests with her seep through like water in a cracked glass. What happens to people who lose everything, when they have done little but give? Where do they go? These are ( ... )

"We should not take things for granted, ever," Aslan bows his head in agreement with Luna, but rather than raise it proudly again he tilts it so that he leans into her touch. It is the closest thing to an intimate gesture for one such as he.

Yes, he was devastated. He will be devastated in time. But only the strength he wields naturally can stand up to what lies ahead. Few people can weather such things. It is why he was crowned at the riverbank, among other reasons. Before she departs he breathes warmly across her feet, blowing the dirt and dust away. He knows she will dirty them on her journey back, but it doesn't hurt to keep them less dirty for when she arrives at home. Wherever her home may be.

"It is good to see you, and it will be better to see you again, Luna Lovegood."

He says her name with warmth and he stands tall once again.
