OOTP

Went to see Order of the Phoenix at the midnight screening last night with Molly, Eva, and Speckie. Spoilers under the cut. ^_^

Okay. BRILLIANT. Hands down my favorite movie of the series. No question. Especially since the book was kind of "eh" in places. The movie made up for it. ^_^

OMGORDEROFTHEPHOENIXISTHEBESTPOTTERFILMYET
-The cinematography/direction was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Kudos to the screenwriters and the director. Srsly. The whole thing was an eye-opener.
-Fight scene between Dumbledore and Voldemort was pretty cool. Still a bit rushed, but neat all the same. I was just sitting there thinking: "Two greatest wizards of all time in an epic battle over Harry LOLZ."
-They didn't add ridiculous scenes that didn't happen in the book like they had in the previous two films, assuming that it would add "dramatic effect", or whatever. Thanks for that. ^_^
-I didn't think it was possible to hate Umbridge any more than I already did. Sure proved me wrong, eh?
-Fred. And. George. AMAZING. The scene was GREAT. Once again, seemed a bit rushed, but...the fireworks were super coolio.
-Helena Bonham Carter. She was pretty good.
-UMBRIDGE'SOFFICEOMGSOFUNNY.
-The DA. Awesome. OMG LITTLE NIGEL! He was SO incredibly cute. I loff him. Even though he's SO not canon.
-LUNA FREAKING LOVEGOOD. I was rooting for her the WHOLE time and she pulled it off. Evanna Lynch was absolutely fantastic. Adorable. The last scene in the movie, pretty much, was freaking cute. *loffs*
-The stuff they took out wasn't a big deal, really. Some of it was relevant, but they left the plot intact, which was good.
-When things happened that didn't happen in the book, there was legitimate reason for it (ie: Cho telling about the DA instead of her friend: Veritaserum, Dursely's not being home when the Order came to get Harry, not for the lawn competition: took Dudley to the hospital).

OMGWTF.
-There were parts of it that ran a bit slow, and some parts that went WAYYY too quickly (ie: Snape's memories, the Order coming to get Harry from Privet Drive).
-The freaking letter from the Ministry expelling Harry talked. WTF. O_O I'll bet you Daniel Radcliffe can read, or at least look like he's reading. You can tell they were trying to show off, and it was a bad decision.
-The Dept. of Myysteries fight scene: VERY rushed. Okay, so...having all the Prophecies falling was kind of cool, but it didn't happen, and really wasn't necessary. The DA didn't get to do much in the league of fighting: the DE's never fought back. And WTF? Since when can they turn to dust and fly off? (Cool effect though, so I'm not entirely displeased with it). Yeah, I think they should have added another 10-15 minutes to this one. And the brains were missing. v_v
-TONKS. She didn't say "wotcher" ONCE. v_v She was hardly in the movie at all. I know she wasn't a huge character, but come on. Give her a line, plzkthx.
-Prefectness. WHY didn't they at least make a vague allusion to Ron and Hermione being Prefected?
-No "Weasley Is Our King." v_v
-Kingsley Shacklebolt. WTF? Why was he wearing African garb? Why was his only line REALLY cliche? *facepalm*
-Weird twitches. Harry's weird neck twitch thing, Bella's weird giggle, Barty Crouch Jr.'s tongue thing...yes, we understand. They're all crazies.
-I wish they would have explained Occlumency a bit more. v_v It's important. Yes, the readers get it, but the people who just go for the movies might not.
-The flying was pretty, but obviously they wouldn't fly that low (when they went to get Harry).
-90% of Harry lines were forlorn emo-sighs. Or breathing hard. Whatever.

Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if they'd added an hour more to the film. I wish they'd get that the die hard fans want to see the books done justice, and wouldn't mind sitting in the theater forever.

Harry's kiss looked awkward. >_<

God, I made it seem like there was more bad than good, when in reality, it was the other way around. I just couldn't think of more good things to put down, because...the whole THING as a whole was fantastic.

Remus Lupin (Ewan McGregor)
Sirius Black (Viggo Mortensen)
Kingsley Shacklebolt (Michael Clarke Duncan)
Cornelius Fudge (Danny DeVito)

SRSLY. ^_^
