Titus is flailing around right now. Too cute. Except when he headbutts my bladder. Bad baby!
I got up this morning at 0630 to a row of furry faces. I guess they were hungry. Go figure. I got up, fed the cats and fishes and got ready to go help some friends move out of their house. Granted, I was only there to provide the truck. Not like a 9 month pregnant lady with a bad back can do much! Two trips and back from Fort Lewis to Pullyaup and we were done.
After that, I went to Petsmart for cat food and litter. Then to Michael's. I was able to buy the sheets of craft foam and frames for Titus' paintings that I fell in love with and my mom bought for him. I even was able to find a cheap black frame to hang the coffee humor picture I printed for Shawn. After Michael's, I went to Target to get Titus' curtains to hide the closet area in his room. I dunno what happened to the doors, but they're not there. Luckily I had my mom on the phone to help me pick them out. I got the longest curtains they had (95 inches) and they had a nice brown color. Sure enough, the are the perfect length from the ceiling to the floor and even though the room looks a bit smaller, it feels nice and warm and cozy. Once I get the mattress for the twin bed and put the quilt that my grandmother made that is autumn brown and orange, I think the room will really feel cozy and comfortable! =D
I got home just in time to make a quick lunch and run out the door for Girl Scouts. Once that was over, I came home, helped Lexi start to learn the flute and then leave again for a friends house. They had invited me over for dinner. Once I got home, I chatted with Julie for a bit and then came back to the house to start on the tree.
After running the kittens off several times and locking them outside the door, I was able to start. I decided to just eyeball it and see what I get. I didn't have any glue but super glue so I glued the first two piece together and using a thumb tack JUST on the side of the tree, I was able to get it to sit on the wall. Once I got about 4 craft foam sheets high and most of the trunk and main branches done without gluing, just pinning them on the wall, I realized I really need to glue them. I grabbed a stapler and starting to staple the pieces together (later I will go over the staples with the darker piece of brown foam that will give the tree definition). Then it dawned on me. I should hot glue the piece together on the back! So I dug into the closet and found my glue gun with a glue stick in it already. I turned to my craft box (of course on the BOTTOM of a pile of boxes so I had to dig it out) to find the rest of my glue sticks. But I couldn't find it. GAH! So.. I decided to just stop before I got super frustrated and left the room. I will go get glue sticks tomorrow so I can finish the tree! I have all day tomorrow to work on it anyways.
I came back into the dinning room and decided to put together this piece I wanted to do for Shawn. I found this witty coffee diagram that I knew Shawn would like so I had printed out a nice copy and then went over it with my own pen to darken the lines. I took the frame I bought him and using the inside piece of paper with the picture on it, I taped coffee filters to it and then taped the picture in the center and put the frame back together. I then walked to the kitchen to find a place for it. In the center of the kitchen wall that has nothing on it is our white dry erase board. It would look really tacky to nail the picture NEXT to the white board, so, I took the dry erase board down. What the hell, we don't use the thing anyways! So in the center of the wall is now Shawn's witty coffee picture. Probably tomorrow I will print off some more pictures to frame and hang around it to make the wall less bare. =)
Okay.. I'm getting really sleepy now. I think I will head off to bed so I can get up and get started on the day tomorrow. Julie and I are going to the music store tomorrow afternoon to look at flutes and flute books for Lexi and then I will ask her to run me by Michael's to get some hot glue sticks. =)
