Whirlwind tour of the UK!

Feb 11, 2009 14:46

For those of you that don't yet have it, my UK mobile is 07538 038 151 :-)

Brief recap:

David got his first passport stamp, saw his first proper football match (and our tickets were top 18 on the first row. There was a sign warning us that players may literally fall in to our laps we were so close).

He then had his first British night out at a proper pub and had his first drunken kebab. (we were out with lots of friends). I met up with my long lost, much beloved friend Pete and nearly threw up after 4 glasses of white wine. (embarassing).

We were down south for a few days, then took a train to Manchester. Stayed there a night then took a train to Newcastle (LOVE LOVE LOVE NEWCASTLE!!). Stayed there a night and now we're in Edinburgh. We were going to go to Glasgow, but I've been told they don't much care for non-Scottish people, so we're camping out here for 2 full nights and then heading back to Sheffield for a night, then back to London. I'm loving the accent here. I want to giggle and hug everyone I come across :-) But then, the farther north I go the more I have to ask people to repeat themselves. I'm undecided about my own accent. Sometimes I but the Brit accent back on (so I at least pass for English) and sometimes I just go for full on Texan.

WHEW! Lots of ground covered so far!
