one of the best snacks in the world is brie and cracked pepper water crackers.
i've been accused of having "old" and "exotic" tastes. i blame my dad for that. of course, i thought i had more of a weird taste than an exotic one. i mean, i wouldn't call peanut butter and mint jelly sandwiches exotic. anyway, i've decided to compile a list of my strange favorites that everyone seems to be disgusted by.
sardines and vinegar
ramen noodles seasoned with kraft powdered cheese
kippers and cheddar
pickled herring
(most) caviar
goat cheese
buttermilk biscuits and extra thick molasses
halva
dried seaweed
grits
carrot juice
gnocchi
liverwurst and pickle sandwiches
there are probably more, but that's enough for now. does anybody else share my strange affinities?
i FINALLY got a new rearview mirror for my francis. not only was the other one shattered on one side, but it finally fell off completely. hahahaha, i love my shitty shotty car. i think her radiator is leaking, though, and she needs some new brakes.
i've got my shakespeare and art midterms tuesday, and my women studies wednesday. so this weekend will be spent doing ALL of the reading and studying for each of the classes since the beginning of the term. so much for staying on top of things. i'm not quite sure who i was kidding when i was trying to be time-efficient.
good news! i apparently don't need to learn all of the songs i thought i did for my choir tour. i only need to memorize 6 in addition to the ones i already know. yessssss.
may 17-20th will be my funfest. 17th and 18th i'll be touring, which will make for very enjoyable nights in hotel rooms with the girls and the guys. apparently meistersingers is singing "dravidian dithyramb," in case any of you nordic-ers cared at all. i think we sang it sophomore year, though, so i guess no one does know it. oh well. anyway. i think we get back from tour late on the 18th, and then i'll basically be going straight to carmike cinemas to camp out for the midnight showing of "Star Wars." at least i'll be among friends, like scott and jason and keith, who are also coming fresh from the tour. then thursday i'll get to sleeeeeeep a little, and then friday night i'm going with my papa to see loudon wainwright play in eugene. it kind of bugs me whenever his name is mentioned, and nobody has ever heard of him, yet they wet their pants over rufus wainwright. aghhhhh come on people. i guess i get my strange musical tastes from my dad as well.
i got my state taxes back today: $150. munnnnnneyyyy is good. speaking of, i need to start looking for a summer job. i was planning on taking the summer off, since i've been working at least 20 hours a week nonstop since i was 15, and it'd be nice to have a break. however, i got my fafsa information back, and lovely 'dubya' saw to it that i lost $3500 in grants that i was counting on. so needless to say, taking the summer off is no longer an option for me.
but where i work is an option, and it WON'T be at pangea. even though judy won't be there, i think i'd still rather vomit in my hair.
which, by the way, is getting long and i have a very strong urge to go chop more of it off.
or maybe i should just go watch "the daily show" and finish writing my "infinite variety" reflection.
