Game 042 [Written/Action] - Play Like There's No Tomorrow

[ The following goes up on the journals later on in the morning. ]

A rather large collection of sheet music appeared in the shops some time rather recently. If you were looking for any that you'd hoped would follow you to Luceti, I might have picked it up.

[ Soon after that, the sound of a violin can be heard coming from in front of House 38. If ( Read more... )

[the song isn't familiar, per se...and it sounds different coming from a violin, rather than an Irish fiddle, but it's been so many months since she heard a reel that she can't help but follow the sound.

When she finds the source, she doesn't interrupt. She doesn't want to. Instead, she finds a place to sit on a nearby curb and pulls out her sketchbook, foot tapping as she fishes out a pencil to draw. She might draw Joshua. She might draw people wandering past. But it's familiar. Like drawing Geordie while he busked for passerbys in Newford]

[OOC: hopefully this is okay?]

(( That's fine! ))

[ Joshua's concentration comes and goes when he sight-reads, but for now he's caught up in the piece, the unfamiliar notes coming a bit unsteadily but easily nonetheless as he plays on.

He hasn't noticed her yet. ]

[she's not trying to hide, but she's not trying to draw attention to herself, either. That glow she'd originally seen around him might be gone, but there was still something...different about Joshua. Still, the music eventually wins over her curiosity, and it's his hands she ends up trying to draw. To the point where she eventually stands and moves closer to a place where she'll have a better view]

[ Oh, he notices that, and after a moment, he pauses to giggle. ]

Drawing again?

[ And he plays on like the interruption never happened. ]

Call it a bad habit.

[she smiles up at him, then] Do you mind? I can stop.

I don't. Should I be flattered to be a model a second time?

[that gets a laugh] You can be if you'd like.

[she gestures with her pencil] It was your hands. And the music. It's good practice.

[and familiar]

I'd imagine it's hard to draw them when they're moving quickly.

[a laugh] It is. I still don't really have the trick down, but it's fun to try.

Besides, it'd get boring trying to draw poses and still-life all the time.

Fair enough. Without practice, you won't get better, hmm? [ He giggles, and then he's back to playing. ]

[ The practice is smooth, and though not without errors, he picks up where he tripped easily with every mistake. He doesn't take any more particular notice of her as he plays on, but having an audience is somewhat nice. ]
