Need Input

So, I'm buying a new phone next month and want opinions... I want an MP3 player so I basically have two choices:

Chocolate (VX 8500):  has a menu system for music like an iPod but costs more and is a slider

VX 8300:  does not a nice menu system for music... just have to scroll down, but it's cheaper and a flip phone

What do we think?

I personally just like flip phones alot better. They feel safer and more reliable to me. Is the music scrolling option very important to yah even? How often do you plan on using this music feature?

It is very important... the MP3 player on my CD player I had was a scroll type and I hated it... and never used it becuase of that fact... and I think I would use it a lot... I used to listen to tunes everywhere... I like flip phones better, but I don't think they feel safer... I'm willing to give up a little for an MP3 player which I have wanted since I was allowed to play with Mike's iPod...

You know how in your phonebook, you can hit the first letter of the entry you want to find it? Can you do the same thing with the VX8300 music player? Is that good enough or do you value the music accessibility more?

I'm pretty sure you can't (I think I read that somewhere), but that would be good enough for me.
