Angel's similarities to Batman are so blatant it's ridiculous. XD But good distinction there, Angel isn't a dick! He's much nicer to his sidekicks/coworkers and actually TRIES to work on his social skills.

Enjoy Angel! I still watch it almost every morning. I've seen the whole series so many times it's really quite sad...

eh..i hadn't picked up the angel/batman comparisons. still, this might help explain my loathing of angel.

Wait till the episode where Spike appears. He watches Angel in action and NARRATES IT BATMAN STYLE. Tis a riot.

Angel starts out sorta similar to batman in style, but underneath the cowl is a different person.

Later seasons go to great, dark and angsty lengths to demonstrate that.

And it is awesome.

But for now, he's Batman with Teeth and without the dickishness.

And ironically enough, it is to my understanding that Boreanaz was considered for the role of Batman/Bruce in Nolans films, but he didn't want to be stereotyped as the brooding avenger. Which is understandable because his acting range is pretty amazing. I realized in 'Bones' there were a few scenes where he's in the dark wearing a black trench coat, but in no way does he resemble the character Angel, which is a lot harder to pull off than one might actually think.
