Red Robin #15
Whhhhy is Marcus To's art so pretty? I want to snuggle every character he draws. And why did no one tell me that Steph was in this issue? People, I need to know these things for the wiki.
So apparently in three weeks, Tim is going to glare at Captain Boomerang dramatically while in jail wearing a red shirt and yellow tie (just so he can make his identity clear. But right now he's breaking into Vicki's apartment like a little creep. Vicki at least appears to have no guessed who Steph is, though she has lots of cute pictures of Bruce, including one that asks if he's a fop or a dandy.
And then Tim decides to go over the cave and bug Steph and perv on her in his inner monologue. Apparently purple ribbing and bat ears turns him on. If only Steph had known that earlier, seducing him would have been much easier. It sort of disconcerts me when Tim acts like he has hormones. Moving on, god Steph looks pretty. I wish Marcus To would be Garbett's replacement since he's apparently leaving. Like all rightminded people, Steph wants to forget her character derailment that happened in the last few issues of Robin, but Tim is here to be annoying after all. Their conversation basically goes like this:
Tim: STEPH! Tell me what you know about Scarab,
Steph: Tim, I'm somersaulting, why are you bothering me? Anyway, if Scarab's in town, I want to be the one to kick her ass.
Tim: Well, if this plan goes wrong, I will die, so you can do it if that happens.
Steph: Tim. For Christ's sake.
Tim: What? What, did I say something?
Steph: Your morbid jokes aren't funny.
Tim: I wasn't joking.
Steph: So then you were just being morbid.
Tim: ...Well, it is me.
And apparently Steph used Middle East contacts to hire Scarab. Since when does Steph have Middle East contacts? Anyway, Tim decides he's the Superman to Vicki's Lois Lane, so he's going to throw her off the story of with an elaborate scheme involving shape shifting Miss Martians. Only Tim goes the extra mile and is totally willing to pretend he's disabled for a year. Suck it, Silver Age Superman. Tim Drake is just that dedicated.
And now GeneralRedRobinAnarky is back! And he's changed costumes yet again- his is now black to show how dark and edgy he is. Also, he's shooting TV's and has his own little Robin chart. And working his red logoed name into his dramatic speeches.
PS Tim finally answered the Drake vs. Wayne thing. It's only Wayne when he wants to get shit from people. You have to admire how pragmatic he is.
I'm not really looking forward to more GeneralRedRobinAnarky, but this was a thoroughly enjoyable issue, and the promise of Cass, the little bit of Steph, the pretty Marcus To art and Tim being a controlfreakdork in a way that doesn't make me want to slap him will keep me reading for a long time.

Secret Six #24
COWBOYS! Yeah, I have no idea why the Secret Six are cowboys now, but who cares. I've been reading SS to my dad lately. and it really reminded me how good this title is all the time. And it's still good, though I miss Nicola Scott so much. So now the Secret Six are in a Wild West elseworlds for no apparent reason, but it's lovely because we get to see Junior again and COWBOYS.

So in the future, we are in the wild west too. Also the moon is broken. It is Max Lord's fault. Somehow. Anyway, this was a pretty trippy issue and sort of interesting. I'm pretty pulled into the ride now for JLI, whatever the hell ride it is.

And thems the reviews! For the record, guys, I've been plugging away at the Batgirls fic and I'm finished with two and a half chapters! The fic should be roughly six chapters, so the nearing of the climax is why I'm suddenly not working at a snails pace. I'll post chapter three when I get it back, then I'll send off four, get it back and post it!
Also, birthday next week (going to see Scott Pilgrim with those two friends that I do have) and then going to college. *sigh* It's going to be hard doing actual work again.
