So...this Christmas season has seemed very different than the rest, maybe because I haven't been home. I mean, I don't guess it's a bad thing, but just different. I'm leaving my mom's tomorrow to go back home at like 8:30, and then Erica and Karen are going to pick me up from the airport. It's a little bittersweet, leaving my Mom that I love so much to go be with my friends and other family. I feel excited that I am going to be with my friends etc, but I am sad that I won't be with my mom on Christmas or her birthday. Divorce sucks. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. So...a good portion of my family lives on the same hill here in North Carolina, and every year everyone goes all out and lights up their houses. This year, my mom decided to do a "Carolina Panther" theme. One side of our roof is a goal post and football, and then the other side "Carolina Panthers" is spelled out in x-mas lights. It's actually really neat, and we got in the paper(which is big news here)the other day. People are driving by honking the horn etc, my mom feels like the new local celebrity.
Nickie text messaged me saying that she and Paris wanted to hang out with me when I come in. I'm not to sure how I feel about hanging out with both of them. I don't really want to crush old memories of the three of us, I'm sure this goes back to the lesson learned in "The Great Gatsby". I have yet to decide what I'm going to do about this situation.
I talked to my Dad today, he's so pumped about Christmas. It's rare that I can actually hear emotion in my Dad's voice unless it's stern...but today I could tell he's excited.
It's hard to say how much money I've spent since I've been here...I was expecting some from the fam, however I received not a dime. But, what can I do? Just go on being the poor college student who got money from her Daddy. Shut up.
Last night I watched the movie "21 Grams". Has anyone seen this? I had personally never heard of it, but I am a fan of Sean Penn..so I decided to watch it. Wow. What an amazing movie. I'm really a person who likes to watch those movies that leave you thinking afterwords, and I have been thinking about this movie for a full day now off and on. Just a movie about the human soul and how this world can really put you through hell. I'd highly suggest this movie, but beware...it is intense and it is rated R for a reason.
Well, I think I'm going to go talk to Nathan for a bit, he's going to Cleveland tomorrow...so he'll be even further away. Sigh.
Movie Quote of the Week: Sweet Home Alabama
Mel: What do you want to marry me for anyhow?
Jake: So I can kiss you anytime I want.
