Wow. I had no idea that The Mentalist fandom was a thing. I guess that was a bit silly of me. ;-)

It was ;) It is a pretty small fandom with not many slash pairings (which is the part that interests me most ^.^), but in comparison to some others, it is very active and has attracted lots of great artists and writers. We had the 'normal' Big Bang just some months ago, too :)

My fandom has been pretty quiet lately because it's been over 2 years since the last game was released - but with the announcement of the next instalment this week it's starting to wake up again.

I imagine series fandoms are generally more active than game ones - at least while the series is ongoing. There's just more material to work with.

I'm a bit meh about shipping in general, slash or otherwise. I've always been more interested in the 'what if' scenarios that get hinted at but never covered in canon, and what people do with those. And if that includes a bit of smut along the way, that's all well and good. ;-)

Which game would that be? I only remember reading posts about Mass Effect and Dragon Age (?) both of which don't really interest me. I mostly play Japanese RPGs, though I make some exceptions - currently I'm playing "The Last of Us" and I'm into the Assassin's Creed series.

I'm not sure about that - I would figure that it depends on the genre the game belongs to. For example there is a steady stream of activity for Final Fantasy or Pokemon...

I like AU's too, but I'm very picky about characters and can't stand Het at all (at least when it comes to fanfiction), so a ship almost always plays at least a minor role in what I read or write myself. Though come to think of it, aside from two FFs for Final Fantasy 7, I never had much drive to write for a game...

I prefer my FFs without too much smut, but now and then, reading in is definitely nice ;)
