all i want
so i'm trying this livejournal thing again, if only because i wrote maybe one whole journal entry during my freshman year of college. what the hell happened to me??
anyway, i've been on summer vacation for a little over a week now. it's been... nice. i guess. the majority of my time has been spent working. i start researching on the 12th (hopefully), but the excitement of my summer basically peaked with coming to the cleaners at 9 am on monday and witnessing about 3473295724 bags of clothing left for me to tag. lovely. on a lighter note, however, the past week hasn't been all bad:
-adventures with boyfriend, including one last fuel and fuddle run for the semester, seussical at canevin (ha), the led zeppelin laser show, nightcaps at starbucks, pens-rangers game 3 from the comforts of my room, aaaand q-doba lunch. yay. he goes to florida the week after next though, which is sort of a bummer for me, but you'll have that.
-i ramble down to oakland/shadyside to run errands. i totally win at the port authority bus game.
-i went shopping for replacement summer clothes! i even got a cute swimsuit... how about that??
-my long lost "person" sam came over to watch grey's and eat entirely too much ice cream with me last night :)
-i kicked ass gradewise this semester. most notably: i made dr golde proud with a 95 on my chem final. i'll miss that little british kineticist.
but anyway, i'm not in the greatest mood. julie has threatened to take the car with her next week, i'm only working two days during my last full week of work for the summer, and i am dying to go run run run 'til i drop, but i just can't run for any longer than 10 minutes on our ancient treadmill in the basement. i need some sort of scenery; litter boxes and a washing machine just don't cut it.
as for the next few weeks, i'm looking forward to everyone else coming home from college. i hope the research is interesting and keeps me occupied. i wish i had gotten the fellowship just so i wouldn't be so damn worried about making enough money to live on next year and to start saving for med school. but at least it's good experience and payment in the future is a definite possibility if i had my own car, i'd find a night job waitressing or something... but i can't imagine the parents being too keen on picking me up at midnight every weeknight. such is life.
i want something exciting to happen. like something summer-y. i know i shouldn't expect a hell of a lot being as it's only may 2nd, but still. i'm hoping matt calls me later so we can go running at aiken. that might be a good start. i have a ridiculous thing for that walking track during the summer; i think it's my walden pond.
