THE CHARACTER
Name: Zack Fair
Series: Final Fantasy VII (Crisis Core)
Age: Eighteen.
Timeline: Just after meeting Cloud, on the way to Modeoheim.
History: Everything you need to know about Zack.
Personality: On the surface, Zack can be classed as the guy who loves life. He's outgoing and cheerful, sometimes overly, to the point when it's rather contagious. He's goodhearted and kind. No matter what happens to him in his life - and a lot does - he never loses that cheery essence to him that defines him to others. No matter the situation, he always seems to find a way to be optimistic about it, even if it seems hopeless.
All things considered, Zack is somewhat naive - he's far too trusting at times - but he's not stupid. Even if he ends up making hasty and somewhat reckless decisions in and out of battle when things are sprung on him, Zack knows when the situation calls for seriousness and provides it. He is brave, strong, determined, and generally hardworking. Sometimes he whines, sometimes he complains, but at the end of the day Zack gets the job done properly. Whilst being a positive, Zack is also far too honest for his own good.
Despite being in the equivalent of the military, Zack is not "trigger-happy". Most of the time, Zack abhors fighting and prefers to find an alternative route. He doesn't fight for the sake of it: he fights for what is right. He wants to be a hero: but he knows the right way to go about it. Power never goes to his head.
Zack has an uncanny knack of making friends straight off the bat. It's very hard for people not to like him when he's cheery, chirpy self - even if you're determined not to be friends with him at first, you usually will end up as one in the end. Yet, despite the numbers of lives he touches, Zack is very loyal to his friends and comrades and places them above himself. He would never actively betray them, nor let them down. He will stand by them to the point of denial, placing his utmost faith in them. He's not the kind of person to put up a pretense, either - he'll always be himself, just the way he is. Because of this, there seems to be less of a distance between Zack and the lower ranks of SOLDIER. He's just a normal guy.
Zack has a strong sense of wrong and right. He is very secure and fixed in his morals and beliefs, and feels remorse when he goes against them. Whilst Zack is usually pretty easygoing, there are a few things that can cause him to get angry. One of these things is betrayal; another is when people, friends or comrades or groups, go against his perceptions of them. He will get confused, he will shout, and the more confused he gets the more he shouts and the cycle continues until he will eventually crack. Even if he's not completely naive, Zack can be far too trusting, especially if he has believed in you before. In reality, Zack has an easy temper, especially when it comes to him being left in the dark and his general, steadfast beliefs being challenged and disproved.
Abilities: To say Zack is a good swordsman is an understatement; for one thing, he's a SOLDIER first class, so it's not much of a surprise. Even as a Second, as he was under the tutelage of Angeal, he was considered to be a cut above the other Seconds. Zack is very apt at his chosen profession and can take down enemies with ease and efficiency. He has many varying techniques at his disposal, particularly from the use of DMW, that he can use when it's called for. He may act naive and fool around, but, when it comes to his work, Zack is always the professional. He takes fighting seriously.
He can also use materia, as well as materia fusion. This varies from physical attacks to healing spells.
As a SOLDIER, Zack is infused with mako. This gives him the advantage of having bolstered speed, strength, and skill in battle, as well as endurance. A side effect of this is the trademark eye colour change. Zack's eyes are bright blue, but in reality they are actually green.
Whilst completely irrelevant to battle, Zack likes squats. If there's one thing Zack does best, it's squats. He's pretty darn good at them, too.
Weapon: SOLDIER sword. It's pretty much just your basic sword.
