HMD Be Here Physical Description of Character: Leon is a tall man, while never directly stated I would place him at at least six foot four. Lanky in build, he's average size for what you would expect with his height. Shaggy light brownish cooper hair partially frames his face, reaching the nape of his neck in the back. His eyes are the same color of his hair, set into a handsome face that can be very expressive, not always but a good part of the time. He smiles easily, shows shock easily when he is taken aback. Although, when angered Leon's face seems to remain impassive an earthly calm.
Leon dresses like a businessman, button-up collared shirts with well pressed trousers. Practical comfortable shoes on his feet, he'll occasionally place a sweater vest on. He dons a long trench coat when out of the house in chillier weather. He can also at times be found with a tie on. Though, he'll usually only have on his shirt and trousers if at home. He also has the occasional sweater in his wardrobe. Leon also always has a stud earring in the lobe of each ear, but this is the only jewelry he seems to wear. Also on his chest is the crest-like tattoo which is the symbol of his status as a pure-blood.

Personality: How to describe Leon? He's an average guy; that is when your average guy is a former rich noble pureblood vampire who's forsaken that life and now lives with his mistmatch family among human's protecting them. Leon is at most times a calm, collected individual. He can be shaken and will show surprise. He's usually quick to know what to do in a situation. Yet, can be a bit forgetful over the small things; he'll always remember but it might take a second. He's not a confrontational person but he is also not the type who backs down.
He's a confident person, a protector by nature it's an air that comes from him which people see. Pamela says it best when she states that if she had to describe their powers Leon and Noah would be dark; yet they fill the room with a white light, meaning their natures were pure. This is what Leon is, he is a pureblood vampire; but the person he is on the inside inherently good and caring. It's how the small family he and Noah collect begins to start with and continues to grow. Leon worries now over money, due to their financial situation.
He is fiercely loyal and protective over his family as a whole, but even more so Noah. Showing moments of annoyance when even the twins hang on the man too much. Noah is the one person who has always been by his side as such Leon cares for him above all others. He can be extremely blunt and will use brute force if it's a faster course in saving those who he cares for. Leon exhibits moments of a rather witty sense of humor. He can be sarcastic and also skeptical at times. He's a trusting person if the character you show is good.
To sum him up, Leon is your all around good guy. A decent sense of humor, honest to the point of being blunt. He will do what he can to help out; usually wanting his commission but as long as all parties are safe at the end he can and will be happy about it. He also internalizes alot, not very open about his own worries or emotions he'll brush them off it pointed out typically. He's serious when he needs to be, although his sarcasm will pop up at times. When annoyed or angry Leon comes off as extremely cold, calm and intimidating.
History of the Character: First to tell of Pure Blood and Leon one must offer a bit of mentioned in canon, but not in canon background. Leon is one of the ancients, a very old and rare pure blood. He has lived for centuries with his 'guardian' Noah. Noah's blood is what has given Leon the ability to live near humans all these years, restricting the vampyric need to feed within him. He was once one of the richest men around, but his story has changed. Now Leon and Noah are just scraping by to make the ends meet and keep the bills paid; what with their ever growing 'family'. It's not clearly stated in canon precisely when; but on a snowy day they came across the Twins, Ran and Ren Caaza. Leon offered them a choice, either take his blood and live or lay there and die. They choose the former of course and became his familiars, deriving their powers from his blood. Both have been given one of his earrings to wear as a symbol of their status as his familiars and are bound to him; even if they prefer Noah. Noah and Leon taking care of them like parents from this day forward. Taking jobs as 'detectives' of sorts in order to receive commissions to pay the bills. They also later adopt Lindsay, but this will be discussed in full detail in the canon history.
When Pure Blood begins we are immediately introduced to Leon and Noah in the midst of a case. A strange epidemic had hit a quiet town, victims were left with two bite marks in their neck. Those who survived lost all their humanity and turned into vampires, roaming the streets in search of blood. Noah and Leon investigate in order to find the culprit and collect the reward. Noah is apprehensive but once Leon points out the bills that are due and the fact that they have a personal reason for taking this case on, he is persuaded. They encounter two of the victims, not the culprit as they are able to tell by the bite marks on their necks. Since they are not technically dead, Leon can use his abilities to return them to humans. Him and Noah set out to do so, separating as Leon grabs the woman and Noah chases after the man. He bites the woman, removing the infected vampire blood from her veins. This act returns her to a human, leaving her disoriented as she asks Leon just what happened. Leon calmly explains that she had been bitten by a vampire, but there is nothing to worry about now as she would be alright. Noah returns suddenly then, but he was unsuccessful. The other human turned vampire has injured him as well. After getting some information from the woman about a seal, really not much else the two return home.
As they are discussing what happened, the wound on Noah's neck begins to smoke the seals from Leon and this other vampire having reacted where they overlapped. Noah falls unconscious and as Leon sits watching him sleep, he sees that this new seal just about covers the one he shares with Noah. He finds this unacceptable as Noah is his other half, no one else. Using his own abilities, Leon removes the other vampire's seal from Noah.
The next morning Noah discovers Leon on the sofa asleep again. He also at that time discovers that Leon is injured from the night before, it seems to be from where he healed Noah or removed the others seal and blood from him. Noah then takes off alone to investigate the area where most of the attacks have taken place. He catches sight of the culprit from the night before and goes after him alone while Leon is still at home presumably asleep. He succeeds in getting himself captured once he enters the hideout and is taken to the vampire who's been attacking the townsfolk. The vampire makes the mistake of bad mouthing Leon and Noah's control snaps. As he begins to spiral out of control, Leon arrives and brings him back to himself. Diffusing the dangerous situation that had arose due to the vampire's carelessness in bad mouthing Leon to Noah. Then the vampire makes his next mistake and insults Noah, questioning why Leon would keep him around. Leon then takes a hold of the man and removes the vampire abilities from his system. Turning him human as he explains that the man could not understand as he had no bond with someone like he does Noah. The two then proceed to turn the other man back into a human and turn the main culprit into the police so they can collect the reward and go home.
After this incident the two set up as private detective's of a sort. Working mainly with what appears to be "Supernatural" cases. As we enter the second chapter only days later Leon and Noah are in the midst of two cases. One involving the appearance of a man out of nowhere, whenever he is sighted people go missing. This is the case that Leon and Noah are working on. The other case seemed to be a simple missing persons case, except that the only leads were a set of footprints that ended at a wall and a sighting a few nights later. Since it was only the one occurrence and the other case had many incidents this case had fallen to the twins to inspect.
At this time Noah and Leon are in pursuit of the culprit, while the twins have been sent to see to the other case for the time-being. Noah goes ahead of Leon to attempt and stop the man they are pursuing from making it to the next town as it would make detaining them more difficult. Yet, when he reaches him Noah discovers he's not one of the ones they seek. The man suddenly disappearing in his place is a voodoo doll of sorts. Leon arrives only moments later and Noah is confused as he had believed puppets could not move on their own without someone controlling them. To which Leon knows there must be another controlling this puppet from somewhere. As they decided they should check in with the twins on the other case; the two appear suddenly. Hugging onto Noah which sends Leon into a bit of a jealous mode and he removes the boy's off the other man. A bit of comedic relief is offered as the Twins just then "notice" Leon a slight altercation of words offered before they reveal they have nothing to report on the case they've been overseeing. As they stand there the boys ask if they've solved their case; to which Leon responds that he hasn't. But he reveals here that he thinks these two cases may be connected. Especially with both involving missing persons. He tells the twins to keep watch longer; to which of course they huff and pout and he tells them he is only asking that they do their jobs. The four separate with Ran and Ren returning to the their watch while Leon and Noah head home.
Once home the two discuss the twins. Leon expressing worry over how they appear grown on the outside; but are still the same children on the inside that they had taken in some time ago. To which Noah jokingly calls him "Dad". Suddenly Leon gets a feeling due to his connection to the twins he can tell that it's quite possible they have been caught by the person they were pursuing. Immediately Leon and Noah set off to find the boys; at this point it is revealed they did in fact get caught as they saw the culprit and pursued him rather than calling Leon first for fear they'd lose him. It is also revealed that the culprit knew the boys name, in fact had been looking for them specifically. Leon and Noah come along not to long after he's taken the boys; reaching the place where Leon could no longer feel their presence. They realize there is a strong seal of protection over the place. Leon states it would take too long to dissolve, so instead he goes with brute strength and bursts through he wall with one incredible punch. Rather than work around the seal to gain access. Noah chastises him for his use of brute strength, even though that punch helped crack through the three layers of protection in a much quicker manner. Of course on discovering these layers, Noah becomes mad that they not only took the twins but complicated their rescue of them as well. And himself goes a bit of brute strength in the end. The two step in and head for the twins; though they are surprised by an unseen attack that sends Noah to the ground or would, except that Leon catches him. Dispelling the remainder of the attack before it can cause either of them harm. It's then shown that the culprit is in fact the puppet from earlier and that Leon was in fact right, the two cases are connected. As the puppet moves to attack a voice speaks out and stops him to Leon and Noah's surprise.
When they look up what they see is an elegant sorceresses. At her feet with their heads in her lap are Ran and Ren; both still passed out from the man's earlier attack used to incapacitate him so that they could be brought to his Mistress. She asks if Noah and Leon are the boy's masters; then reveals that before Leon and Noah had the boy's they were in fact her familiars. Her time of Death has neared and she had wished to see the boy's and know that they were well. Her only reason for letting them go was due to the fact that she was becoming weaker and no longer had the strength to sustain both of the boy's and allow them to live. As well as animate the puppet she controls. She had been searching for the twin's for some time; but because they had shared blood with Leon she could not sense them anymore and due to the fact they had transformed out of their original forms to appear human she could not tell them apart from other people.. The twin's are by now awake and hearing all of this. This of course reveals that both cases have in fact been Helena's doing in her search for the twin's in hopes that the one's she was capturing would be them; so that she might make sure they were safe before passing away. They accuse her of abandoning them; to which Leon informs them that is not true as he knows her power has weakened with her age. He reveals the real reason; to which the woman agrees being the case. She'd never had a true desire to part with them; but she did not want them to die either. She realizes she knew that together they could survive and they did holding on till Leon and Noah found them and saved the boys. Immediately making the four a family, Leon and Noah treating the twin's as if they were their children. After she assures Noah and Leon that she will return the people she has captured in error; Helena says her goodbye's to the boys. Asking that Noah and Leon care for them; to which the reply is of course that they will treasure them both. With Helena gone; they four head home but this is not before the Twin's call Leon dad and Noah mom and hug them both; saddened at seeing Helena leave to die. But happy to have Noah and Leon to care for them.
Entering into chapter three it's a moonlight night and a mysterious letter arrives at their home; it's only days now till the full moon. The time when Leon without Noah will lose control. The contents of the letter are startling as it is a case; offering a very handsome reward of which a "Small advance" enough to cover two months is offered. They are instructed to speak their answer out-loud so that someone may be sent to retrieve them. Leon seems skeptical and to his surprise Noah immediately accepts; the lure of that much money in order to support their small family too much of a temptation. Before they can discuss it the letter floats up from Noah's grasp. A young man appearing, he informs them he works for Pamela Arkouf and he's come to greet them. As Leon protests he traps them in a spell and whisks them away to Pamela's shop. Where they awaken on a couch as if they had fallen asleep. They are then greeted by Pamela herself; who is not human but a sorceress. She reveals that it is from Helena, Ran and Ren's previous master that she has heard of the pair.
She states that she is in the business of antiques and has acquired one that is beyond her abilities; this is the reason she has hired Leon and Noah. Leading the men into an adjoining room to reveal a an antique doll that has a special power that has brought it to life. The doll is sleeping, Pamela believes she has the ability to summon something but what she can't find out until she awakens. The means to making this happen is that someone must kiss her. Leon delegates this responsibility to Noah; since he was the one who accepted so readily to take the job without any information. When Noah kisses the doll's forehead the jewel there begins to glow and she awakens. She is enthusiastic and immediately grabs Noah in a tight hug while Leon and Pamela look on. She becomes immediately attached to Noah, so they bring her home with them. It helped that Pamela offered them three times the original amount if they could deduce rather she was able to summon something so she knew rather she could be sold or not. As Noah and Lindsay sit on the couch what she can summon is revealed as the undead. It's a double trouble situation as it's also the full moon. When the zombies break in, Leon is aggravated with them for destroying the house and uses his powers to try and rid the house of them. Lindsay who is frightened and clinging to Noah suddenly is pulled away; the jewel in her forehead cracking and shatters disappearing from her forehead along with the undead and her powers. It didn't kill her and as this is realized, Leon falls to the floor as his control over himself begins to snap. Noah is as always right at his side the instant he realizes; it's his blood that can suppress the vampyric powers inside of Leon. Once he's taken Noah's blood Leon is returned to normal, the thirst no longer threatening to consume him. They decide to give Lindsay Leon's blood; he refuses to let Noah do so. This will make her one of his familiars and allow her to live without fear of summoning the undead again. She is offered the choice of either staying with Noah, Leon, Ran and Ren or returning to the store with Pamela. She declares her desire to remain there with all of them and Noah and Leon give her ribbons that Noah ties her hair up in pigtails with. At this point, Leon welcomes Lindsay to the family. In the background the Twins are shown talking to Lindsay. While Pamela expresses happiness and worry as she is glad Lindsay is happy and safe but she did pay good money for her. A thing which she proclaims can't be helped; with the addition that she's certain she can count on Leon and Noah's assistance should she need it again in the future in order to pay her back. They both readily agree, after all she might be a little intimidating. At the end, Leon and Noah are left wandering if maybe she hadn't planned it this way from the beginning as their small family grew once more.
Magical Powers/Skills: Leon possesses like all vampires an immense strength; which he will use if necessary. He is also able to regenerate from small injuries very quickly; larger ones may take some time but if left to heal they will do so without the aide of outside intervention. He is an intelligent man; able to think through a situation and do what must be done. He possesses an increased speed above what a mortal would possess. It is shown that Leon can handle his own very well within a physical altercation; using both that immense strength and a decent amount of fighting skill.
Now here is where Leon differs from your average vampire though; he can resist the urge to feed from human's and the change into a monster that comes with the Full Moon. It is with Noah's blood only that it's possible for him to do these things. Leon also has the ability to bite a person and remove the tainted vampire blood or the vampyric abilities; thus turning them back into a mortal. This is how he will deal with a vampyric enemy as opposed to killing them. He also has the ability to sense magic, and the ability to remove strong magical seals. Or create his own if necessary. He can use his magic to create a wind that will surround wherever he chooses, either knocking an enemy back or stopping them and any advancing attacks from causing harm. He also does not seem to be harmed by sunlight; seen out during the daylight hours a few times in canon.
Weapons: His body could kind of count as a weapon and he's got fangs. But no swords or anything like that!
SAMPLES:
Personal LJ Sample: *The voice feed seems to have been accidentally turned on, what's shown is a confused looking man appearing to be in his late twenties. A shock of light brown hair fell before eyes of the same color as a nurse is seen walking on screen and injecting a needle into his arm* Whoa, whoa what are you doing? I don't need any shots, I'm just going to go ok.
*They'd already told him what happened to him, but he'd deal with that later as he scoots backwards from behind another nurse administers another injection* Ow! That one hurt, really trust me this radiation sickness and all that can't hurt me--I'm sure or at least mostly sure....
*He's finally got off the bed; but they are no longer seeming to want to stop him. Their work done the nurses in the view of the feed go back about their business.* Geez, friendly aren't you. Poke a man and then ignore him.
Good riddance *The feed cracks as he turns and exits the clinic, the last thing shown is Leon's face as he looks up to the sky.* At least it doesn't look like a full moon is coming soon
Third-Person Sample: The smell of death still hung over the city as did the scent of the fire. He'd thought the clinic was bad with the sterile smell and molesting nurses; this was much worse. As much as he needed Noah it was a moment where Leon felt glad he was not with him. This place felt desolate, it bogged down one's spirit with a heavy air. His hand rubbed across his face as he looked around. "Home sweet home...."
He already missed them, all four and just hoped they were safe. The bills would be huge if he got stuck here too long; Noah would be scared. The twins and Lindsay too. He had a large amount of concern on his shoulders when he thought of the little family that he was the "Head" of. The hardest part was he had to admit no matter where he tried to sense there was no protection here that he could break to free himself and no sense of any of them. Not even Noah, it was an empty feeling that tugged at that demon haunting Leon's blood.
He wondered if this place had a full moon? He might not know when the cycles were coming, that was going to make for an interesting night if it happened. He didn't have the use of Noah's blood to stop him if it came, he wondered if there were any here who knew how to stop a vampire...he hoped so. All he could do now was survive, he needed a list of the things he'd need. Shelter, a job, money or some form of currency in order to make exchanges. Clean water, knowledge of this place from citizens. An investigation would be needed; he couldn't be too careful in who he got mixed up with till he had all the details of this place.
His steps became determined as his face fell into a relaxed expression. It was quite the opposite of what he was really doing, Leon was paying attention to every stir of air. He wasn't powerless here, he could feel the power within in his veins and was confident he could call on it. Now was the time to make survival here his top priority while he did everything he could to find a way back to Noah, the Twins and Lindsay.
