viva las vegas (or, The Distance Between You and I)

So i just took a brief trip to visit my father in las vegas.  I haven't seen him in at least a year and a half when he came to see me in Santa Monica.  He's always been a bit of a wild one.  Since i was young he has been a user of various drugs, and was always a fan of the more frowned upon genres of rock and roll.  In the brief moment before his divorce from my mom, he grew into also enjoying goth clubs, and their related attire and music.  How this relates you shall soon find out!

As i arrive at his house in Las Vegas, he was standing on the corner with out his shirt waving with a wild smile on his face.  His long, manic panic blue hair was just hanging out as always.  And much to my surprise, he had nipple piercings.  This isn't too much of a surprise, since the last time i saw him he had the blue hair.  I was led into his house to see that it was different from anything i could have ever imagined.  Where there should have been a dinning room table and chairs, was a large pool table with the classic pool hall light hanging overhead.  Covering this light were pictures of scantily clad women, which still isn't much of a surprise.  Then attached to the window was a huge fake spider with cobwebs, and a large stop light.  small pewter, Gothic looking things adorned the shelves and walls, with more paintings or drawings of scantily clad women.

Into the living room, i noticed a huge Tv and several computers laying about.   Oddly, the couch was not facing the TV or the computers, but instead was facing a wall.  It took me a while to understand this until i noticed a tall brass object in the corner of the room, and a different height of wood surrounding it.  At first i supposed my dad invited bands to play in the living room, but suddenly had the realization that this was in fact a stripper pole!  Yes, a mother fucking stripper pole in the living room, where one would normally have a couch or coffee table.

I was then introduced to Jesica, my dad's new girlfriend.  She was a bit of a suicide girl, with many piercings and tattoos.  Much to my surprise she seemed to be about my age, and very blond.  Obviously my dad and i have very different tastes in women.

After introductions, i just hang out a bit until it's time for dinner.  And after dinner my dad has planned for us to see Fantasy, a show at the luxor featuring 6 topless women dancing, and a comedian.  Dinner consisted of Mimi's Cafe with another friend of his Adrian (she happens to be a stripper somewhere in vegas).  immediately after dinner, my dad and Adrian got into his car to quickly smoke a joint, which i was invited to join in on but politely decline.  Then off to Fantasy.  I still don't really know what i think of the show.  Sure there were naked women, and they had really nice bodies, but honestly, their faces were less than pretty.  And on top of that, i just can't get excited about naked women when there are another hundred people surrounding me, and on top of that,  i don't know these women so it's just not exciting.  It was an interesting experience though so oh well.

The night was going to continue with us all going to the strip club where Adrian works, but fortunately we got home too late after Fantasy to make that happen.  My dad's plan was to buy me a lap dance and a drink, which is something that just seems utterly foreign and uncomfortable to me.  Disaster avoided.

Sunday, i help my dad move some Halloween costumes to his goth store.  I had been told about the store several times, but it still comes as a bit of a shock to me.  I can't quite grasp my dad owning a store, much less a goth clothing store.  And the clothes there, are things i really don't want to see on the women i am interested in.  But to each his own i guess.

That's about the end of my time spent in Vegas.

Other mentionables, i thought the drive to and from would be utterly terrible.  Lately there have been a few emotional disturbances and i feared i would stew my self in those thoughts.  But fortunately my head kept really clear and the drive it self was the best part of my trip.  It was fun driving a really nice car, and not worrying about it breaking down at any point.  I also manged to clear a few things up with a friend, which was a major relief.

So all in all, my time in Vegas was quite memorable, and quite a story.

omg in every way possible
