It looked like she was glowing, with blonde hair looking even brighter as it caught the light just so. She was looking very beautiful, but mostly she made his eyes hurt a little bit.
There is a reason that rum is only for pirates and scoundrels. It's because it makes you grumpy as a rogue the next day. Peter grumbled at her and then winced and made a face.
Peter plodded over to the table then sat down heavily in the chair next to it. Every gurgle from the twins made his head pound a little bit more, and all he wanted to do was go back to bed, but have it be dark, and maybe not have his head hurt at all.
I didn't," he said miserably as he took a delicate sip of his water. It did make him feel just a tiny bit better. "I just yo-ho-ho-ed with it. That's what you're s'pposed to do. And now I feel awful."
Peter let out an affirmative grumble and then laid his head on the table. After a moment of watching the twins play (who were cheerful and had no idea their brother was ill), Peter let out a groan and closed his eyes.
"Wendy told me this happened. Oh, Wendy was right, ugh."
"Yeah, I would have," Peter protested loudly, then winced at how much louder the sound was outloud than in his head. He winced and laid his head down again, curling up on himself. "Ugh, when's it going to stop?"
"Drink your water, go back to bed for a little bit and you'll be fine, I promise," said Eostre. "It'll go away. Your head hurts because your brain's thirsty."
With another soft sound, he reached for his glass and finished it off then stood up and walked over to her. Unashamedly, he leaned down and laid his curly-haired head in her lap, just for a few moments.
"Is this why pirates are so mean?" Not remembering, for a moment, that he and Wednesday had decided to turn pirate just last night.
He whimpered, but her fingers did feel good in his hair, even if things were too loud and too bright. "Me an' Wednesday talked 'bout pirates last night."
Certainly, Peter had made a large mistake deciding to go about yo-ho-ho-ing, even if he hadn't known it would lead to a blinding headache. At the least, he owed Wendy a genuine 'You Told Me So.'
After a few moments, he said with his eyes still closed. "She's m'favorite."
When he walked into the room, she arched an eyebrow.
"Afternoon, sleepyhead."

"There's water and tea on the table. I suggest you take a little of both and sip it. Slowly."
Eostre was displeased.

It was hard to be angry with him when he was obviously suffering, so she kept her fingers moving through his hair.
"That's...a huge surprise."
