I think they're mostly meant to be funny. I don't take most of those very seriously.

The problem is, a lot of people do take them seriously. Which is mostly funny when they try to use them.

Mmm. Not much worse than people who won't leave you alone when you want them to. Still, that spark of confidence is so amusing, especially when they have no idea how to follow it up.

Really? I find that the ones who have no idea what to do next fumble awkwardly for a few sentences, blush profusely and then hope you fill in the gaps.

That's a shame. I quite like filling the gaps for someone who mustered up the courage to talk to me when they're that shy.

That's true. A lot of my friends are quite arrogant, but it's not a completely bad thing.
