Driving lesson was horrible today....I was tense and achey by the time I got back...not sure if it's because it was later in the day [more everything around] or just because Maurice upped the pace....back on track for early Sunday morning lessons now!!
On the other hand, had a lovely time at the Derwent Club on Thursday night. Tina [from my class] works with adults with learning difficluties [ADL], and she was asked if she and some people from her class [us Wednesday lot, not any of the Tuesday gang we've joined] would come to the club they run for ADL and do a bit of a performance and "class" [nothing official, just tying belts round peoples' waists and letting them have a go].
We duly went, and had a lovely time! We're scheduled to do it again in July, which I'm looking forward to!
Afterwards, Tina took us to the pub to say thank you, and we've come up with an idea for some extra-curicular activities, which are going to stay hush-hush for now.
We also discussed how we [or at least Terrie and me[] feel held back in class at the moment. The thing is, ever since they switched us over to Tuesday nights [our class dropped dow from 13 people to me, Terrie, Tina and Kathryn], we've not been progressing as fast. I know it's not the Tueday lot's fault, they've had less classes than we have, but we're getting frustrated.
Also, it would seem they staged a bit of a palace coup last week. Tina, Terrie and I dashed off to avoid football traffic, and Kathryn informed us that during cool down in the circle, the Tuesday lot said how they didn't like doing tambourines, or modern music, and wanted to go more traditional. Whereas us Wednesdays [who have already been put out by having to switch nights] prefer faster, more upbeat stuff. But obviously the majority of us weren't there to fight our case! Couple this with the fact we're doing a skirt dance next, at the request of the Tuesdays, we're getting really, really frustrated!!
Mum said after the hafla that I should switch instructors...Terrie told me that she'd also thought about changing.
Add this to the fact that Derby Adult Learning have told Gaynor that she can't run multiple Improver and Beginner classes anymore, and she already has and Improvers class, makes me wonder what's going to happen when we're supposed to move up to Improvers level in September!
