miscellaneous ramblings

So, I'm back at work, for probably the last time before I move. I had a nice Christmas with my family. On my mother's side, everyone was nuts as usual. I think my favorite part about this Christmas was the lack of traveling. I've lived in DFW for the last 8 years, and this year I was just down the street. I didn't have to drive for a few hours in holiday traffic on Christmas Eve to go home, or the same Christmas night to go back. It will be the last time I get to do that. The five of us, and only the five of us, spent the day together, just being lazy and doing nothing. There was no drama and no stress... some of us even got bored. It was great!
I got to talk to Jarod for about 5 minutes or so before the phone died. He said that all the phones were down because the switchboard could not accomodate the holiday traffic on the lines. He called me from a satellite phone, which was really sweet. It was good to hear that he had a huge dinner and a good day. It made me happy to know that he was being taken care of. :)
I missed nevertouch though. I worried about her on Wednesday (when she flew in) because we had bad weather that day, and I suspected that it was going to cause headaches and delays for her. They had to de-ice the planes on the tarmac at DFW, and even cancelled some flights. I heard from her later, and found out that it delayed her by 12 hours, costing her an entire day here, and crunching her time schedule. I hope that I get to see her again before I move to California, otherwise it could be years before we get a chance again. Sweetie, if you're reading this, we need to get together before we can't anymore. I miss ya.
I'm working till the end of this week, and the countdown begins at the turn of the year. It should be about 8 weeks from today. YAY!
