Frequently Asked Questions
o1. What is this journal for?
Primarily, it's for the random icons I make, but I will also post tutorials (for icons/headers/banners/blablabla), wallpapers, fonts and brushes here too. If you're looking for my personal journal, you're in the wrong place, buddy.
o2. Do you take requests?
Yes and no. I take requests when I leave my journal OPEN to requests. When requests are open, I will put up a post asking for a maximum amount of requests (around 20/25 user icons maximum.) Unlike other icon journals, my selection will not be first-come first-served, but probably based on whether or not I know the actor/movie/singer/etc. you're asking for. Obviously, I won't just make icons of the things I know about, but I'm more likely to feel driven to make them if I know what I'm doing.
o3. Do you take requests for graphics other than icons?
No. Icons are different to headers and things like that. An icon isn't so personal. That's why I don't use other people's layouts, no matter how useless with overrides I am.
o4. Speaking of overrides...can I have yours?
No. I'm useless with overrides and I'm very proud of whatever crappy contraption I've managed to come up with by using them. If you need help with overrides, there are communities like everything_lj and override_helper for that.
o5. Will you make me a layout?
Yet again, no. Obviously, this is because I'm useless with making layouts. Make it yourself, you lazy bastard. :P
o6. Where do you get your images for your graphics?
You can find links to all the sites/users (that I can remember) my images are from in the resources post. If there's an image you can't find, ask about it in the questions post. If you've not bothered your arse about looking, don't bother me to go looking for it for you. I will not be happy.
o7. Where are all your brushes from?
There is a list of all the users or sites my brushes are from in my user info. There's also one in the resources post.
o8. What font did you use in that icon?
I've listed as many fonts as I can in the resources post. If there's a font on an icon of mine that you can't find the name of, ask in the questions post. Failing that, there are communities such as fontaddicts that can help you.
o9. Can I edit your icons?
Definitely not. I try to make icons as perfect as possible so that they do not require your editing. They are fine the way they are; they do not need your creative input. If you want to do that then make your own icons and stop taking credit for mine. If there is a particular icon you don't like the words on (or want them taken off completely) then ask me about it in the questions post, and I will do my best to help.
1o. Can I put my own text on textless icons?
Textless icons are exactly that; textless icons. They are not bases to be toyed with or written all over. If there is an icon you want me to put text on, then ask me. I know it sounds like I'm making more work for myself, but my icons are my creative children and I hate to see anyone else manipulating them. (Insert psychotic music here.)
11. Help! Your icons are not showing up for me!
That's either a problem with your internet browsers, internet connection, firewall or my image hosting. Try clearing your cookies, and if that doesn't work then I suggest checking your firewall settings. If they still don't appear, that's my fault, and all I can suggest if you check back later.
12. Do I have to credit you?
Definitely. I work really hard to make sure that every icon I put out is at its highest standard, and it's kind of hurtful when people don't acknowledge that. Credit is a neccessity.
13. How do I credit you?
Easy. When you upload the icon, simply type "by neverday" after your icon description, or put my name in the icon comment box. Couldn't be easier.
14. Can I have your email address?
Yes. My email address is soggytrilby@hotmail.com. I will try to answer all emails, but please don't be offended if I don't reply for a while (... or at all). I'm very disorganised and busy so I can't always find time or headspace to get emails done.
15. Can I have your instant messenger handles?
No, if I want you to have my IM handle I will give it to you. Email me if you want to talk to me.
16. Can I ask you a question?
Sure. In the questions post.
17. If I friend you, will you add me back?
Probably not. This is an icon journal, not a personal journal, so the only journals I want on my friends page are either fandom or icon related. Please don't take offence if I don't add you.
