Yuletide letter

Hey, hello, hello! Thank you for being my author and for having great taste in media :) This is gonna be awesome.

In general terms, I really like humor and happiness, but I like serious stuff too. I'm not a huge fan of hurt-comfort or angst foreverrr, but if it's well done I will totally read and enjoy it. I will also love your het, your gen, your femslash, or your slash (although I do have some notes about pairings in my requests).

Some specific things I hope you'll avoid: I generally can't read things with horror (esp body horror), acute embarrassment, character death, incest, underage character/of age character, and rape/non-con. If it's something incidental, I can probably deal, but a fic focusing on any of these things would be really difficult for me to read. Also, zombies. I cannot do zombies at all - I've had to stop reading/watching many things because there were zombies. Sorry to be so difficult! Hopefully you aren't jonesing for serious zombie writing action etc. I don't think this will be a problem with any of the fandoms I'm requesting, I just figured I should get it all on the table.

Specific requests reproduced for your convenience:

The Flashman Papers
Selina Flashman, Frank Grouard
(If this isn't your fandom but you might want to write it - it's a big series of books, so it's hard to get into, but I would applaud you for trying.)

I'm super fascinated by Flashman's kids/grandkids, and would love to read anything about their adventures. Selina and Frank are especially interesting to me because they combine the Flashman sensibility with a comparatively disadvantaged place in society - their adventures could get a lot more complicated in a lot of ways because of that, and I'd love to read more than the small glimpses of them we get in canon.

If these characters aren't grabbing you, please feel free to create your own Flashman child/grandchild! In particular I'd be super interested to read about Szu-Zhan's children (from Flashman and the Dragon), because Szu-Zhan was great. But I'd love to read whatever you come up with.

Inspector Chen - Liz Williams
Zhu Irzh, Inari, Chen Wei
(If this isn't your fandom but you might want to write it - it's another big series of books, sorry! The quick fandoms are coming up.)

I was rereading these books recently and was just struck with OT3 feelings. Like, I just want Chen Wei and Inari to trap Zhu Irzh in domesticity and never let go. Things I'm struck by whenever I think of these characters: Inari's conflicted homesickness and distaste for Hell, Chen Wei being thrilled by having a junior but also being a hot mess, Zhu Irzh trying to be suave while also being fascinated/admiring of both of them. Also! Inari and Zhu Irzh's weird thing in the first book, Zhu Irzh being creeped out by humans, Chen Wei having uncomfortable erotic associations with demons... I need to stop writing this list. There's just a lot.

Please don't feel you need to ignore Jhai Tserai or write her off - I like her a lot and can see her being amused and tolerant of Zhu Irzh getting stuck buying groceries for the Chens etc. I am entirely for complicated poly situations - or for Zhu Irzh having a platonic relationship with the Chens if that's what you want to go for. Something with these three characters living very intertwined lives, that's all I really want :)

Baseball RPF
Koo Dae-Sung, Randy Johnson
(If this isn't your fandom but you might want to write it - most of what you need to know is in the below youtube video!)

So really I want fanfic of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f6owc3O_gY AKA the story of Koo Dae-Sung, terrible batter/actually a pitcher getting a hit off of Randy Johnson, amazing pitcher. That's it. Was Johnson magnanimous in defeat? Did he hold a picture of Koo next to his heart, seething in resentment? Did he show up to Koo's house after they were both retired with a 6-pack and a bucket of baseballs, shoving a bat in Koo's hand and growling "batting practice"?

Did Koo Dae-Sung dine out on this story for years? Or did he just not think it was that big of a deal?

Enquiring minds (me, pretty much just me) want to know.

What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Pauline Ivanovich|The Beast, Vladislav
(If this isn't your fandom but you might want to write it - it's a movie and it's hilarious, I definitely recommend checking it out.)

I would love Vadislav backstory. Anything. The more over-the-top and inane, the better.

Inane is not a typo there. The inanity is the best part of this movie, and I would love more slice of life vampire adventures... just in the 15th century I guess?

Thanks again, author! Optional details are definitely optional, so don't worry about it if you don't hit every detail or are inspired in a different way entirely. I'm sure it'll be great :)
