But first - my giftfic!

One Night In A Castle for me and I ADORE it and maybe you will love it too. It is Lion in Winter rpf. If you have not seen A Lion in Winter you should definitely see it. If you are not aware of the ridiculousness of the actors involved in the movie (including the late greats Peter O'Toole and Katharine Hepburn) you should check that out also.
Here is what I wrote:
Team The Best Team (5715 words), for defcontwo
Elementary (TV), Teen. Marcus Bell/Ms. Hudson/Alfredo Llamosa, Joan Watson and Sherlock Holmes
Summary: Marcus gets along really well with Holmes' friends.
My assigned fic! I wrote it in like... four days, and lyryk was super awesome and beta'd it for me. It was a lot of fun to focus on the side-characters, and it was interesting to write reasonable, practical characters who can actually just decide to go on a date instead of having to angst about it forever, haha. Also I am glad I finally got a full-sized Elementary fic off the ground, I have three in my WIPs. (Aaaand this fills my M/F/M threesome square in my idfic bingo, because I can make yuletide work for me.)
And then I wrote my 10 treat-fics on the 23rd and 24th:
Tudor Spies and Perfidy (744 words), for paranoidangel
The Ten Stupidest Things I've Heard Since Richard III's Remains Were Identified (Blog Post)/Academia RPF, Gen.
Summary: A meeting of the University of Leicester excavation team.
This blog post is amazing. This fic is just a ridiculous thing that was tons of fun to write, no historical knowledge required.
The Four Worst Things About Being Cursed by a Witch (1234 words), for Scribe
Cracked: After Hours, Teen. Soren Bowie, Daniel O'Brien, Michael Swaim, Katie Willert, Cody Johnston
Summary: 1. Having to wear name tags to remember who's who.
After Hours bodyswap fic! I think this might be one of the best/most fun things that I've written all year. I am so glad Scribe prompted bodyswap in their letter.
Daily Schedule (1048 words), for cher
Matthew Swift Series, Gen. Kelly Shiring, Matthew Swift
Summary: Kelly Shiring's night, from dusk to dawn.
I finally managed some Matthew Swift fic! I have 2 WIPs I am not getting anywhere with, but I managed this. Also I totally predicted the content of the Doctor Who Christmas special at the end of the fic, somehow, so I am giving myself bonus points for that.
Is That a Yes (328 words), for fluffybun.
Gokusen (Manga), Teen. Sawada Shin/Yamaguchi Kumiko
Summary: Sawada Shin's proposal is not very well timed.
Gokusen! Gokusen. I'm not sure if I did the prompt/fandom justice, but I had fun writing about these guys anyway.
Beat (445 words), for APgeeksout
District X (comic), Gen. Lucas Bishop, Ismael Ortega
Summary: Mutant Town is a neighborhood like any other.
District X is a comic about the Marvel Universe mutants who aren't superheroes and the police that deal with them. It deals with a lot of civil rights issues, both real world and fictional. I was into the comic when I was 14, and it was interesting to come back to it eight years later and see what I thought.
The Greater Night Vale Medical Community (529 words), for Marks
Parks and Recreation/Welcome to Night Vale, Gen. Leslie Knope, Ann Perkins<
Summary: Leslie meets Night Vale's newest nurse.
Leslie in Night Vale is such a brilliant idea - I've seen it before and wanted to write the crossover, so I'm glad Marks prompted it.
But Never Too Much (323 words), for marketchippie
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, PG. Rosa Diaz/Amy Santiago
Summary: Rosa and Amy do shots and make out.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is my new favorite TV show - I have a WIP that I hope to finish soooon, but it was great to take a break and write some quick femslash. The summary is basically what marketchippie prompted.
Screaming Carols All the Way (596 words), for Toft
The Heat (2013), Gen. Sarah Ashburn, Shannon Mullins
Summary: Shannon and Sarah go Christmas shopping.
I loved The Heat, because FRIENDS and BOSTON and awwww. So I wrote a fic about Ashburn and Mullins being BFFs in my old neighborhood, because I am allowed to be self-indulgent.
Similar Zoological Institutions (718 words), for machiavellijr
The Flashman Papers, Gen. Harry Flashman, Theodore Roosevelt, Frederick Selous
Summary: Harry Flashman and Theodore Roosevelt and a bunch of dead animals.
I've read every Flashman book at this point, which is a source of great disappointment to me. I don't think I got his voice quite right in this, but it was still fun to get into the character and the history that happened around him.
Reasonable Business Practices (519 words), for lalaietha
Discworld, Gen. Pepe and Madam Sharn
Summary: They first met at the Blue Cat Club.
Pepe and Madam Sharn show up in Unseen Academicals and completely own everyone around them. One again, I'm not 100% sure that I accomplished what I meant to with this fic, but I had a lot of fun trying.
And that's the lot! Going to start replying to comments tomorrow, it might take a while. Hopefully I'll get some recs in soon-ish - I'm maybe half-way through the archive right now, so it'll probably be mid-January before I'm ready for recs.
