Reveals!

Let me mention my giftfic again real quick first: A Pain in My SideKICK (The Non-Adventures of Wonderella) and Nonstarter (By the Sword), both by leidolette who is apparently a stellar human being. They're awesome.

Here is what I wrote:

Some Time Before (7080 words), for anstaar
Discworld, Teen. Sybil Ramkin/Samuel Vimes, Adora Belle Dearheart/Moist von Lipwig
Summary: The thing about being young is that it happens to most everyone.

My assigned fic! I was deeply uncertain about this as I was writing it, but people liked it and I think it must have turned pretty well after all. And it has four of my favorite Discworld characters in it, so.

And then I wrote ten treats while not writing a term paper:

Moving In (741 words), for ArmchairElvis
Black Books, Gen. Fran Katzenjammer and Bernard Black
Summary: Fran's got a new neighbor.

I love Black Books, and when ArmchairElvis wondered in their letter about how Bernard got into the bookselling business, this was the obvious answer.

My Life on the Road (574 words), for alianne
Chapters: 1/1
Classics by a 6-year-old/On the Road, gen.
Summary: “I think it’s about a car. A car that goes to Mexico, Indonesia and other places. It’s about a car that goes on all sorts of adventures. The guy on the cover is a teen, he likes to drive people places a lot. And he’s French.”

Somebody got their six-year-old to judge books based on their covers. It's awesome. I'm not the biggest fan of Kerouac, but I really wanted to read the 6-year-old's version. I had a lot of fun writing fragments from it instead.

Arm Yourself (350 words), for randomeliza
Nimona, Gen. Lord Ballister Blackheart
Summary: Building yourself a new right arm is difficult when you're right-handed.

Nimona is my favorite new webcomic. And I love writing about cyborgs.

Costuming (193 words), for gertie_flirty
The Non-Adventures of Wonderella, gen. Wonderella, Queen Beetle
Summary: Wonderella's difficult wardrobe day.

I wanted to give writing Wonderella a shot - I'm not sure if this worked the way I wanted it to, but it was fun anyway.

Afternoon Stroll (753 words) for earlofcardigans
Hawkeye, Teen. Clint Barton and Kate Bishop
Summary: Right, so I'm taking the dog out for a walk. The most normal thing I could possibly do.

I read all of the new Hawkeye run while avoiding my paper, then immediately wrote this fic for earlofcardigans. I'm really into how Matt Fraction writes superheroes, and I've been a fan of David Aja for a while - even though I've kind of fallen out of comics, the Hawkeye series feels very familiar and comfortable because of the creative team, and it was easy to write fic for it :)

Read Aloud (593 words), for krabapple.
Parks and Rec, Gen. Donna Meagle, Leslie Knope, Tom Haverford
Summary: Donna's one-woman show reading the phonebook.

The summary comes from krabapple's Yuletide letter, and wow, that image really hit me as one of the most amazing things that hasn't happened yet. I don't think I necessarily pulled it off here, but at least I tried!

Where's He Gone Now (482 words), for hollenius
The Thick of It, Teen. Ollie Reeder and Malcolm Tucker
Summary: Malcolm's phone rings. It does that a lot, though not as often as it used to. (Malcolm after the inquiry.)

This showwww. I could write Malcolm being sad and petty forever.

Peanut Butter Stew (300 words), for IrenaK
Elementary, Gen. Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson
Summary: Morning in the brownstone.

I really love this show. Also it's a new Yuletide tradition to write characters cooking the recipes I live off of.

A Pleasant Othermass Evening (1387 words), for aralias
Gallifrey, Teen. One-sided Irving Braxiatel/Romana II, Leela/Romana II and Leela/Narvin/Romana II, Eight
Summary: Braxiatel's Othermass party does not go to plan.

Two of my treats got accidentally long. Also Katy was not at all deceived by my anonymous guise, which I knew was a risk from taking her prompt - but I didn't want to write any of the other Gallifrey requests, so...

Keep Your Head Down (1067 words), for kiki-eng
Michael Bublé Being Stalked By A Velociraptor, Gen. Michael Bublé, Craig Ferguson, Terry Gross, Velociraptor
Summary: Scenes from Michael Bublé's Crazy Love tour.

This is an amazing meme. There weren't any Dinosaur Comics requests, as far as I could tell, so I had to replace with different dinosaurs. I didn't know who Michael Bublé was before stumbling on kiki-eng's letter, so I compensated by throwing in media I was familiar with.

The end! Tomorrow I start replying to comments, and then I will finally stop talking about Yuletide for at least nine months.
