From Sundry...

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before??  Considered making a tshirt that says "Fuck Gravy"
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year??  I never make them...set yourself up for failure and you will fail.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth??  Sister, my bestest friend and my step-sister (who I'm not too fond of at the moment but hopefully we'll be close again one day.  Of course, it's hard to regain proximity to one who's got their heads embedded in their asses.)
4. Did anyone close to you die??  My Grandmother in Law.  She was so wonderful.  It killed me to not get to see her at Christmas this year.
5. What countries did you visit??  Does BFE count?
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007??  Less drama?  (wait, does that sentence construct constitute a rip in the space-time continuum?)
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why??  October 19th - we celebrated our tenth anniversary (but then discovered our first date was actually the 18th instead of the 19th  - we've had it wrong for years, hilarity.), October 11th - death of sweet GIL.  December 25th - spent all night wondering if my nephew would make it and wishing the folks at local shitty hospital would get it together enough to help him over the pain of all those burns.  The birthdates of the babies that were born in my orbit.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year??  Not beating myself up for the lack of a Martha Stewart home.  That shit gets boring.
9. What was your biggest failure??  Because it's on my mind lately, the inability to prevent my nephew from getting burned so badly (by gravy, at Xmas dinnet)  even though there was nothing I could have done.  Otherwise, not losing weight.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury??  I had an upper respiratory tract infection that turned into walking pneumonia and I had various bouts of tummy troubles...and I quit taking birth control which has turned me into a chronically hormonal twat so that seems as though it could be an illness of sorts.
11. What was the best thing you bought??  Vacation; even though we didn't do a whole hell of a lot...but then, that was the point.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration??  Um - not killing people who annoyed me?
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?? My stepsister's totally dysfunctional behavior at Christmas.
14. Where did most of your money go??  You tell me?  Actually, paying toward debt.  Yay, I paid off a student loan and a credit card this year...progress!  Just in time to go into debt for a new roof next autumn.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about??  Sex - now that I'm off the birth control, I actually wanna do it again.  Who knew?  I thought my sex drive was gone with the wind.  That'll come in handy for the whole baby making saga.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007??  Lydia the Tattooed Lady because it's been my go-to ear worm for the year.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:? a) happier or sadder? ?b) thinner or fatter? ?c) richer or poorer??  I am not really sure; kind of a mix on A, stayed the same on b and c.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of??  save $$
19. What do you wish you’d done less of??  judge.
20. How did you spend Christmas??  Emergency rooms, hospitals, car.  Bathroom crying.  Bad.
21. Did you fall in love in 2007??  With my husband.  Every day.  (Except when I was being a bitchtastically bitchy bitch.)
22. What was your favorite TV program??  Heroes, right now.  Subject to change once the writers find their groove again.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year??  My stepsister's boyfriend, baby-daddy, drama-mongerer, whatever the hell he is.  Ass.  And Mitt Romney.  He's kind of a jerk.
24. What was the best book you read??  Island of the Sequined Love Nun by Christopher Moore.  Sweet!
25. What was your greatest musical discovery??  Soundtracks, soundtracks and more soundtracks.  I love the musical scores of all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies - they make my toes tap and my soul itch for a sword and eyepatch.  Arrr.
26. What did you want and get??  less debt
27. What did you want and not get??  family harmony.  Would you fuckers please just tolerate each other if not like each other.  Jeesus, it's not like we have to be in the same room more than once or twice a year.  Stop physically assaulting each other.  Stupidheads.
28. What was your favorite film of this year??    Resident Evil Extinction.  Who knew?  I used to hate zombies.  Now that I know how to defend myself against their evil horde onslaught, I kind of want to hug them and be their friends - until I whack them in the skull with a shovel.  :)  Doesn't hurt that Mila Jovavich is just way kickass; even more so than little old Angelina.  .
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you??  Shit, I can't remember.  Is that good?  I think we went out to eat?  It was a Saturday so I had the day off (and I took the following Monday as a mental health day - we get paid birthdays off at work - Score!)
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying??  A little more money and recognition at work, I think.  Damn Cancers - always needing validation.  Ferchrissakes.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007??  Slouch.  With a soupcon of sometimesIcan'tdressmyselfandendupputtingmytshirtoninsideout-edness.  Like today.   And apparently last week sometime even though I don't remember but my coworkers do?  ??  Bwah?
32. What kept you sane??  My husband and my friends.  They're excellent shoulders.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most??  None I really fancied but I think it would be neat to hang out with Kevin Smith and have a fart contest or something.  God, I spend way too much time with the guys at work.
34. What political issue stirred you the most??  The assassination of Benazir Bhutto.  God forbid the world is allowed to progress and a woman is allowed a position of power.  She was good at what she did and she was loved and revered.  Let's not allow that light to shine.
35. Who did you miss??  The husband's Granny.  She was so great.  And my friend
moveablefeast.  She lives too damned far away and I work too damned many weekends so we've not gotten together in a longlonglong time.
36. Who was the best new person you met??  My newest niecelet...she didn't fart, burp, cry or pee on me when I first held her.  That counts for a lot.  (Of course, it could have been because she was entranced by the double-Ds - they tend to have that effect on babies - too bad, kiddo - this lunchbox is empty.)
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.? - See 38.
38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.?   Monty Python said it best...

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
