MY ARTS ARE PASTEDE ON YAY
A friend of mine recently showed me the concept art sketches for several of the main characters in my favorite video game ever, The World Ends With You. The drawings are really good, with most of the characters drawn in a much more realistic style than they are in the game, but the two main characters have...issues.
This is the picture:
Notice the quality of the sketches. I particularly like Higashizawa, down in the lower right; he just looks kinda cool. And sort of like a pimp. (Also, Sho flipping us the bird and Kariya's tiny, tiny wings, which will never cease to amuse me. I'm immature like that.) Everything is cool, the art is nice, the main characters...
Whoa.
What the fuck is wrong with Neku's hips?
His pelvis seems to be trying to escape the rest of his body, which is probably why he's standing all knock-kneed, like a little girl trying not to wet herself.
Alternately, he has a baby bump, which explains the pissed off look on his face. I'm sorry, Neku. I'd be mad too. (Do either of his legs actually connect to his hips at human angles? I mean imagine him with no pants. WTF.)
Next, we turn out attention to his right arm.
I've circled the relevant part in red for your viewing convenience. Look at his arm. It is literally the size of a toothpick. Some of his fingers are drawn bigger! I mean, the art is very stylized and everyone in the game looks like a famine victim, but this is just ridiculous. That arm has no muscle! There's no way he can be holding it out like that!
(I just noticed this, but his headphones aren't purple either. Huh. Also, am I the only person in the world who cannot stand having their hair under their headphones?)
We're pretty much done with poor, skinny-armed, pregnant Neku, so now we move on to Shiki. Let me tell you, LJ, that when I first looked upon this picture, I chuckled and made snide comments. Then I looked at Shiki and dissolved into hysterical laughter, and I honest-to-god could not even SPEAK of the horrors. I laughed until it hurt, LJ.

There's actually not much wrong with this picture. Her proportions are exaggerated, and her legs are facing a different way than the rest of her body, but other than that, it's fine--OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH HER HAND

HOW MANY FINGERS DOES SHE EVEN HAVE
WHY WOULD ANYONE EVEN DRAW THAT OH GOD
