So I just underwent a transcanal tympanoplasty in my left ear. For those of you who aren't doctors, that means they went in, peeled back part of my eardrum, took a tissue graft from behind my ear, and stuck the graft behind my eardrum with some surgical packing foam. Surgery is sort of unpleasant, but I get to chill and take pain pills and basically sleep whenever I want. And I can have people get things for me, because I'm not supposed to do a lot of standing/bending/picking stuff up. That part is awesome.

Obviously, my face is so awesome that it deserves a tag.

It was my first, and it was awful...not so much the op, but the whole hospital experience. ;__;

I usually look dreadful in photos, that was the only remotely flattering one I could find...>>

I can imagine. *patpat* All of mine have been, like, outpatient procedures? Not sure if that's the right term, but I've only had to do a couple in a hospital and I don't remember those because I was really little. (I had my tonsils taken out and had to get stitches for a terrible headwound after I fell off the edge of the bathtub when I was, like, three. You can still see the scar.)

Heh. My mom photographs horribly. She looks like a crackwhore in pictures. She doesn't in real life at all, but apparently the camera has a different idea of who she is.
