Who: Ventus and OPEN What: Opening day of the ice cream shop! Where: Scoops, the ice cream shop. When: The day after this~! Warnings: Derpy ice cream timez!
Cid was going to wait outside until Vincent joined him, but his curiosity overwhelmed him after only a few minutes. When he entered the small shop, there were already two people inside, neither of whom he recognized in the slightest.
Well, never mind that. He wandered over to the tags with the names of the flavors on them, checking to see if anything intrigued him. They certainly didn't seem to be standard flavors, but then again...this was here, wherever here was.
Actually, now that he considered it, the kid behind the counter did look oddly familiar, but there was also something different about him...well, it wasn't as if Cid would have remembered his name anyway.
"This your place, kid?" he asked bemusedly, surprised that someone who appeared so young could have put together something this nice.
Ven noticed Cid enter in. He grinned happily, excited to have another customer!
"Yep, it is! Welcome! See anything you'd like? Everything's free today!" He said, nodding. Of course, he wasn't the only one helping out. His friends were helping too, but in his eyes, it was his place.
"Free is good," Cid mumbled, nodding and going back to examining the flavors after flashing Ven a grin.
"Hmm," he hummed, wondering if he would be better off with chocolate-chip caramel...whatever the absurdly long but delicious-sounding name was or if the spark lemon would be more to his taste. He did like lemon, but the way this world was...
"Say, does the lemon stuff...it doesn't have any magic in it, does it?" he asked suspiciously. Surprise shocks from ice cream were not something he wanted to experience. And surely elixir couldn't be- well, whatever. Cid had no intention of ordering that anyway.
To Cid's question, Ven tilted his head. "Uhhh, no?" He mumbled, a bit curious as to why Cid asked such a question. Honestly, he wasn't that talented with magic. Aqua could probably do something like that, but he hadn't wanted her to.
He was in business to bring ice cream to those who didn't have it! He didn't want to trick people or give them crazy ice cream.
"No? Well, in that case, I'mma take a scoop o' that. Say, y'don't have any o' them waffle cones with th'little moogle shapes on 'em, huh?" he asked hopefully. He hadn't had that kind of cone since he was quite young, and in a different place at that, but it was worth asking.
"Okay! And....uhh." Ven started, pausing. He looked around, finding one of the waffle cones he had. "It doesn't have moogles on it, but...is this good?"
Gosh, he hoped so! He's have to make a mental note to carry the ones Cid wanted!
Cid chuckled. "Yeah, it'll be fine. I don't think they even carry those back home anymore. Comp'ny musta gone outta business."
He waited patiently for Ven to fill the cone with ice cream, looking around at the store again and admiring it. "Oh, uh, Cid Highwind, by th'way," he said, realizing belatedly that he had never introduced himself.
"Oh, alright." Ven mumbled, then nodded. Okay, phew. Cid was fine with what he had. That was good. Now that he knew Cid was good, he began to fix the ice cream for the male, handing it to him shortly later.
"Hope you enjoy! And it's nice to meet'ya Cid! I'm Ventus! But you can call me Ven!"
"Same t'you!" Cid said cheerily, taking the ice cream as he did. "An' thanks a lot fer doin' this. I'll be sure t'come back, as a payin' customer next time."
His first taste of the dessert as he walked away, waving, confirmed that it would definitely be worth paying for in the future.
