Large Theft Car

Today moved quickly but was surprisingly rewarding.

A story I posted about the new Grand Theft Auto game's engine got posted on Digg.com's front page, which meant a lot of views, to say the least.

[Editor-person]: over 18,000 people saw your story.
[Editor-person]: Almost 19k
[Editor-person]: And we'll get more from it tomorrow.
drownmedream: Geez louise.

So, pretty crazy. It's funny, too. We got an e-mail from an IGN affiliate (one of, if not the largest gaming website) that basically accused me of stealing their story, even though I got it from another source. It's just interesting, understanding the context of what I'm doing I guess. Apologies if I've turned this journal into a chronicling of my game-centered exploits, but it helps for me to document it, I think.

Otherwise. It's lonely around here. I like the emptiness, the space, the silence...but I don't have anyone to share it with. Andrew and Scott are twenty minutes away, sure. But it's different, I dunno. I want someone to sit outside with and go to parks to. The feeling of distance between ya'll in Naperville is already coming around, I think. There just...I don't feel like there's anyone worthwhile around here. Maybe I'm too bent on exclusivity.

Tomorrow, get out and look for more jobs. Do laundry. Read more.

Oh, another note. Watched Castle in the Sky with my dad last night, and wow. Wondrous. Adventurous, classical, beautiful, youthful...just so enjoyable. Maybe I like it so much because it's similar to Miyazaki's other eldest film, Castle of Cagliostro. From what I can tell, the animation team they used was identical.
