To the ones who have a moon engraved on their wrists, please tell me who you are.

Cooperation is both optional and very appreciated.

You've received some pretty good information about people with moon brands so-far... it's a bit strange, but so far it looks like everyone who received a moon seems to fit the symbol somehow, wouldn't you agree? There's probably some meaning in that...

So far, I've heard of very few suns.

What did you think about the suns? Can you relate to them?

Hm? Well, the only other sun I could really say that I know so-far is the other Mello, and I'm pretty sure that no matter how different we all can be from our alternates around this place, there's always at least a little something familiar that we can relate to.

Why? Are you wondering if the people with suns are just as well-suited to it as the people with moons?

Alternates seem to keep too much in common, no matter what their differences.

Yes. For example, the sun truly fits you.

What makes you say that? Are you getting on well with the other Near despite him being a loathsome, dirty little rat?

-And, do you really think it fits? Why is that, aside from the obvious irony of a burnt person wearing a burning brand?

[[ooc: Like I said on AIM /;A; I know a lot about astrological symbolism and stuff like that, but I'm trying to think- does Mello seem like he would know things like that, or is it too 'impractical' for him?]]

We share the same calm, at least. Why do you think he is a dirty little rat? How is he different than me?

You are like an uncontrollable flame, Mello. It burns.

Your calm doesn't piss me off the way his does- I don't like him because he's manipulative, cold and presumes to tell me what I can and cannot do.

...

And that- that's a bit poetic of you, isn't it? How do I burn, Near?

I presume he is in position to do so. I am a mere student.

The Mello from my world is too passionate, sometimes to the point of self destruction. No-- more than harming himself, he has the power to drive others insane.
I doubt you are anything different.

No, he's not. I've never answered to anyone, especially not the Near from my own world, so why should I answer to a complete stranger?!

-'Mere student' my ass. When you say it like that you sound like you're pouting, you know.

...Ah, but 'passionate to the point of self destruction' seems fitting, honestly. Not that I planned on disfiguring myself, but- there's no use lying about something like that when the evidence is clear from my face.

Your Mello. You seem like you're always very conscious of him all the time- is that just because you're talking to someone with his face, or is it because he's 'driven you insane' like you're suggesting? What did he do to you?

I was merely stating a fact.

...I have been meaning to ask. What happened to your face?

No, I have always been like this. I am just talking about my observations, not my experience.

((ooc: Since Clairbourn Mello always used scar Mello icons, I had forgotten that he was actually scarless *sweatdrops*. Had I remember this before, I'd have made Near give it a thought in the log we played!))

It's a fact that you're a high school student. But 'mere' is a bit too harsh for that- especially if you're the way that you are without the special training we received at Wammy's House in my world.

...You didn't ask before, so I assumed that you were familiar with it. There was an explosion, that's all.

You're rather poetic, in any case. Your Mello drive people insane while you watched, then? However literal or figurative that's meant to be, it's still ominous. While it'd flattering that you assume I can destroy peoples' minds, I'm sure that what happens to other peoples' brains is more or less their own fault and not mine.

Compared to the lives you lead in your world, being just a student is close to ridiculous.

I see, I was not familiar with it. Then again, you are a more extreme version of the Mello from my world. Even if he reveled in danger, risky situations did not happen often.

Yes, I did not mean that he did it on purpose.

You're not just a student here, are you? You're trying to solve the case and get us out of this place- therefore, you're a detective. I told you before, whatever we did or felt in the past doesn't matter to me, what matters is now and getting out.

...I doubt that. It seems to me that being attacked by B and having to keep it a secret qualifies as a 'risky situation.' Why didn't your Mello kick B's ass, aye?

......So I am a detective here? I... Understood.

That is because I refused to tell him who had done this to me. He was more than willing.

Good. I would have been extremely disappointed if he'd done anything but.

Now, are you resolved not to pout? We have more things to discuss soon, between L and my visit to town and the information we've gathered over the network.

...I am not pouty.

If you are going to visit the town soon, you should take Matt with you.
