Kira was Light Yagami. And the Light we've seen on the network here, the shinigami? He was Kira back in his world, too. L confirmed it.

In that case, I'm not the only one who needs a warning. Kira may have started-out killing criminals, but he was killing FBI agents and world-class detectives as well, towards the end.

Killing FBI agents and detectives is extreme, however. Power does make people blind, no matter how noble their hearts were. Regrettable, indeed.
