So coordinating travel plans is extremely stressful. But now I think I have plans for spring break, and I'm super excited. I just hope it works out.
Here are the plans (I'm not sure about the exact dates. The first part is completely worked out, I just don't know the details):
March 23: parents come into Aberdeen.
March 24: parents still in Aberdeen; maybe explore Inverness or the Banffshire Coast
March 25: Drive to Edinburgh, stopping in St. Andrews. Explore Edinburgh and then drive to Glasgow
March 26: Fly to Dublin.
March 26-April 1: Explore Ireland, making a loop from Dublin, going West to Galway, dropping South around the peninsulas and eventually swooping back up to Dublin.
April 1 (late): Fly to Manchester
April 2 (early): Fly to Milan
April 2-5(?): Explore Milan
April 5(?)-15(?): Explore Eastern Europe, including: Budapest, Hungary; Vienna, Austria; and Prague, Czech Republic.
April 15(16?): Fly back to Edinburgh(?) so I can get back to Aberdeen.
I really hope this works out. And I still want to get to Inverness, and the Shetland/Orkney Islands. It's looking like Scandinavia may not happen.
For smaller trips: This weekend I'm going to St. Andrews and also (hopefully) Stonehaven, where the castle used to film one of the Hamlet movies (the Mel Gibson one) is located. Next weekend I'm going down to Edinburgh for a rugby match.
