Title: Safety On/Off
Fandom(s): Breaking In/Smallville
Pairing: Cameron Price/Lex Luthor
Rating: NC-17
Summary: "A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own a gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack," Cam says when he unwraps the ornate structure Lex gives him. Lex's unabashed expression tells Cam that he is about to own enough guns to necessitate an entire gun rack.
Author's Note: For scripps's prompt here. She continues to encourage me :p

Intellectually, Cam knows that Lex faces danger on a daily basis.

Lex shields Cam from the worst of it, but the media is pretty good at nosing out the most serious attempts on his boyfriend's life.

Also, Lex looks like a guy who faces danger on a daily basis with his clothes off. He rarely scars, somehow, even though Cam knows - he knows - that Lex's got shot when he says "the bullet only grazed me"; he'd been stabbed that time he deflected and shrugged, "What can I say? A blade that big wasn't meant for precision, Cameron. I'm lucky it only knicked me, but I'm not surprised."

Lex looks like he's faced danger - and come out on top - because he's got muscles that are just crazy. Every time he and Cameron get naked together, Cam feels like saying, 'Seriously? How are you my boyfriend!' The man fills out a suit like nobody's business.

And then there are the guns. The panic room. But mostly the guns.

Lex has an honest-to-god armory spread out across the expanse of the Luthor estate; there are hidden gun lockers in every corner of Lex's city penthouse. Lex may actually own more guns than Oz, and Oz is kind of a gun nut.

Lex even gives Cam guns as gifts, complete with gun accessories.

"A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own a gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack," Cam says when he unwraps the ornate structure Lex gives him for- Actually, this gift isn't for any particular gift-giving holiday. Lex gives Cam gifts quite a lot.

Lex's unabashed expression tells Cam that he is about to own enough guns to necessitate an entire gun rack.

"I just want you to be safe," is Lex's argument when Cam looks none too pleased.

"I want me to be safe, too," Cam replies. "Safe from shooting my own toe off... Safe from accidentally discharging my weapon at some poor, innocent bystander..."

Cam isn't sure Lex believes in the concept of the 'innocent bystander', but Lex promises to take Cam to the gun range and teach him how to handle a gun for their sake anyway. Cam's never seen Lex fire a gun, and he isn't a gun nut, but he's not going to object to a little extra Lex-time, regardless, so that's how they end up on a range three days later.
He is shocked. He is absolutely shocked by the results.

Not by his own performance, of course. He sucks, as expected. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if it charged at him, and he isn't surprised by Lex's skill either... Cam was certain Lex's aim would fall somewhere between the territory of excellent and damned-near-preternatural.

But Cam's reaction to Lex's skill catches him off guard.

He totally gets off to the sight of Lex in his shirt sleeves, cuffs rolled up to his elbows, muscles tensed and gaze sharp on his target as he fires one dead-center shot into a bull's-eye after another. Cam's never been one to drool over a scantily clad babe holding a big gun more than over, say, a scantily clad babe not holding something that could blow his arm off. But Lex with a gun in his hand makes Cam feel completely different about the whole are-deadly-weapons-sexy debate.

He's ridiculously hard by the time Lex has blown the chest out of the second paper person to find itself in his sights, and when his already dreadful aim gets even more dreadful, Lex begins to catch on.

"Having trouble concentrating all of a sudden, Cameron?" Lex asks, breath right next to Cam's ear as he reaches around Cam and helps him readjust his grip.

"Uh... why- why do you ask that?"

"Because you're holding your gun right in front of me, so I know that that can't be what's causing the bulge in your pocket."

Lex Luthor: billionaire, mad scientist, stand-up comedian. Cam supposes he could pull that joke off too if he looked and sounded as smooth as Lex.

Not that he's concerned with comedy as his weapon fires, his bullet landing who-knows-where (certainly not on the paper target) and an embarrassingly high-pitched squeak escapes out of his mouth.

It's not the gun or the firing of it that make Cam squeak. It's that as soon as Lex got through modifying Cam's grip, he reached down and grabbed Cam's erection through his pants, stroking him unabashedly right there in the firing range.

"Lex! What-"

"Shh. Don't worry. We've got the range to ourselves; no one will see."

They do have the range to themselves, Cam suddenly realizes. He doesn't know whether he should be mortified that Lex knew to arrange it that way, grateful for his boyfriend's foresight, or hopeful that maybe Lex was thinking they might need their privacy for some reason other than that Cam is apparently a real slut for a hot man who can shoot well.

He's really only interested in this hot man, in any case.

"Holy sh- Shouldn't I at least put don't the guh..."

Cam means to say 'gun' - he does. But then Lex bites down on his earlobe, while simultaneously tugging at the buckle of Cam's belt with one hand and reaching inside Cam's pants to grip him, flesh on flesh, with the other.

"Don't," Lex commands.

So Cam doesn't. It's a good thing Lex is rich enough to pay for the property damage that occurs as a result; Cam is just happy that he didn't shoot anything that bleeds while Lex drove him past distraction with his hands and mouth before bending him over the nearest low surface.

In fact, Lex says Cam's aim actually improved right there at the end. He even managed to hit a target dead-center. (It wasn't his own target, but still...)

Lex says he'd like to expose Cam to more weapons training, and as much as Cam prefers when Lex shields him from the reality of the dangers surrounding them (Cam's never felt the way he feels about Lex for another person; like he doesn't know what he'd do if he lost him) if this is how Lex plans every training session of theirs to proceed...

Cam can't help but get on board with the suggestion.
