How is this man as hot in his forties as he was as a teen? Hotter, I'd say, though that takes into account my own maturing appreciation of male beauty.
Honestly. I've been super busy lately, but what free time I've had to spare on television has been spent getting sucked into the Criminal Minds fandom, and C. Thomas Howell presents a problem for me.
You cannot cast C. Thomas Howell as a vicious serious killer.
You cannot film a startlingly intimate, psychosexual assault scene between a character portrayed by C. Thomas Howell and the character Aaron Hotchner.
You cannot do these things without provoking unsettling reactions from viewers.
I'm haunted by the Reaper storyline from a few seasons back on CM. C. Thomas Howell rocks. His serial killer is one of the scariest I've seen on television. The 'unsettling' reaction comes from the fact that he's simultaneously one of the more intriguing characters I've seen and incredibly attractive. And not just because of Howell's handsome profile. Foyet's characterization is a sort of dark flipside to Hotch's - a really clever bit of writing, I felt - and it's always interesting seeing two foils face off against one another, even if it's with heart-wrenching results.
Howell was on an episode of The Glades, too - another show I'm giving a shot.
And this all gives me yet another reason to want to watch Southland. I hear he plays an entertaining, if often infuriating, character on that.
TV, I have no more time for you! Stop showing me shiny things.
