Yesterday's prompt at comment_fic was to write drabbles in exactly 42 words. I thought I'd share mine, as well as some of the other drabbles to come out of the prompt that I really enjoyed.*
My Drabbles:

You're not friends. You'll never be friends. You'll be in love 'til it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other 'til it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends. Real love isn't brains, children. It's blood. It's blood screaming inside you to work its will. I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.
What a delightfully cruel surprise. Turns out, with his soul, he can love with his mind and body.
Doesn't change what a bollocks he makes of things, loving the wrong person.
'Cept maybe Percy's not so wrong.

Nobody upsets Ellie's baby brother - even Devon.
“Babe!”
“I’m serious, Devon.”
She loves him. Of course she does. But she loved Chuck first. Before anyone else, long after everyone else, they loved each other, will love each other. That’s just how it is.
They’re each other’s most important constant.

Chuck has been through so much and yet still sees the good in people. He ascribes nobleness to Neal's misdeeds and makes him laugh all the time. Bryce must have been crazy to let Chuck go. Neal will never make that mistake.

Mike works hard, still quotes laws and precedents easily but Harvey's noticed subtle differences. Sometimes after Mike's phone beeps he gets this soppy smile on his face. He sees Mike reading up on art and sculpture. Yeah the boy's got it bad.

Back when he worked in Baltimore, Tony used to worry that he'd die alone and unloved.
Now, mostly he's just worried that he's going to die.
“Boss...”
“Hold on, DiNozzo.” Gibbs' voice is as rough as the grip of his hands on Tony's.
“Not sure if I'm gonna make it this time, boss.”
“Ducky will fix this, Tony. You will not die.” Ziva says fiercely, and he knows vaguely that his head is in her lap, regrets not having the breath to make a joke about that.
“Mr. Palmer, if you would hold this...” Ducky's voice fades in and out along with the pain, and Tony's thinking he probably doesn't have a lot of time left now.
“Probie?”
“I'm here, Tony,” says McGee's voice, and if Tony had more time he'd tell him that just cause a guy was dying didn't mean you had to shout right in his ear.
“Tell Abby...tell her I'm sorry.”
“Tell her yourself,” someone says, and he thinks it's Gibbs, but everything's gone dark at the edges and all he can think, as he drifts, is that he might be dying, but at least he's not the other two.

He hears it in the harshness of his voice when he's done something reckless, feels it in a grip too tight to be considered unaffected.
But this is Kirk's first time with the whole gay thing and he demands to be wooed.

When Chuck returns to Burbank with a hickey the size of a baseball adorning his neck it's clear to Bryce what needs to be done.
Next time Chuck visits, Neal chuckles as he inspects Chuck's thighs. Bryce always was an over achiever.

"Would you give up the con?"
Chuck is not a man of partialities. When he loves? He loves. Enough to let Neal walk away. Whatever Neal's answer - it's Chuck's as well.

The brothers think 'the freak talk' is their secret language. Bryce would disagree, any die hard nerd with access to a Klingon dictionary could decipher their conversations with ease.
Their secret language, the real one - isn't something anyone can hear.

When Bryce comes back to the dorm and the first thing he does is sprawl himself gracelessly on top of a surprised Chuck, he's saying "I had a bad day, don't you dare move."
So Chuck doesn't.

If Chuck is looking up at him with his large doe eyes and a not so innocent pout? He saying "I forgot my lunch, can I have yours?"
If Bryce then rolls his eyes at the same time his leg starts jittering he's calling Chuck a "Cock tease." He will then proceed to slide over whatever he happens to be eating.

A tiny smirk and a flick of the eyes, Bryce is asking "Blow job?"
That particular combination is rare, and is only to be used when Chuck is either very amused or very drunk. If he asks under neither of these conditions, consequences are a cold shoulder and an even colder bed for the next few nights. Chucks not so secret way of saying "Do I look like your sex-toy?"
As long as Bryce doesn't respond with a quirking of his lips which means "Yes." He won't suffer blue balls for the rest of the month.

If Chuck strokes the inside of his wrist with his left hand pinky finger in the middle of their love making, he's telling Bryce "I'm close."

When Bryce plays with one of Chuck's tiny black curls at the base of his neck he's asking "Are you happy?"
And if suddenly Chuck starts kissing the breath out of him he saying "With you? Always."
When they finally break apart for some much needed oxygen and Bryce whispers "I love you"?
He really means "I love you."
