'Swan Song' was a beautiful ep. I definitely give it points for 'Best Use of the Title 'Swan Song' that I've seen so far :p It makes me a little angry, though, because you know they wanted to kill somebody off for the sake of the shock value and they did it to Franks because they couldn't kill off a main cast member but needed a death that would be upsetting :/

I...have not been the most avid fan of Mike Franks, so I'm not too torn up about it - not to mention either the actor himself or the make-up made Franks look like he might be on his last legs anyway, so it seemed a bit of a natural progression for that ep (Though you're totally right about the manipulation of writing it that way...which I come to expect from all my shows by now. /jaded). I don't like having Gibbs hurt like that though. From the look on his face in the beginning, I was horrified that it might have been Duckie who'd gotten axed.
