How old am I?

Feb 01, 2005 10:08

Today is one of those days when I feel like I've hatched out of a pod and I'm just trying to blend in with all the humans.  The slightest mistake is likely to give me away.

Look at those gorgeous kitties!!!! I just wanna kiss them and hug them until they squeek!!

"No, not cats, bunnies. Neva will die alone surrounded by bunnies." And as only the truly socially inept could say, my response is "Well, then I'm not really alone, am I?"

OMG if I were drinking at the time I read that, I would have spit it all over the screen. That's GREAT!!!!

Thanks. Of those kittens I only ended up keeping the torty one. The others went to other homes.

Thanks for saying it's funny. I just feel like such a huge dweeb sometimes!

I know exactly what that's like. Most of the time I'm just quiet, and I've learned not to care if people think I'm psycho, hehe. A lot of times I don't know what to say to people, and if I say something stupid, sometimes I feel bad about it afterwards. But then someone comes along and says something really rude or stupid to me and I forget all about my bad social skills, lol! So I wouldn't worry about it too much :)

It's good to know I'm not alone. That's just what I do. I will say something and then I'll feel bad because I'm pretty sure it was the wrong thing to say.

Amen to that lol! I was reading through your entry and when I got to the dying alone surrounded by bunnies thing I was like, "wait a min, not alone!! The bunnies!!!!" lol!

I'm the same with people, but now, sicne I started college its like I don't care if people think I'm a pysco or not. More recently, I say what I think and if people look at me like, 'wtf' then I just don't care lol! I always think of it as people who are rude and think you're a pysco, are only thinking that because they're too stupid to understand that other people have different personlities and ideas!

Yes, not caring could really help. Thanks for the sympathy. Mostly I'm talking about people who are perfectly nice, and I see them a lot, but I'm uncertain of just how I should act. Like, I know we're not friends, but it wouldn't hurt to be friendly.

I vote be outgoing! I talk to the cashier when I buy stuff and introduce myself to many people. Sure, maybe I come off as an enthusiastic goof- but at least people know I mean well and I really don't care if they shake their heads and say I'm a little different. Bubbly is good.

And if you die with bunnies and cats you will die surrounded by those who love you. What's wrong with that? (Oh and to point out the obvious...that's ridiculous! What kind of office conversation involves deciding how someone is going to die?)

Oh and I love that picture with you and the cats. Why can't I have good pictures of me like that?

Love,
Nanda

Hmmm, I'm so not bubbly...

Yes, bunnies and cats are good people.

I think Steve was just joking around, implying that I'm a crazy cat lady.

Well, 99.9% of pictures of me are terrible. Every now and then they come out ok.

That's a terrible thing to say to you. When you get in a sticky situation, just act breezy. Usually people can talk too much when striking up a conversation, but you probably don't need to worry about talking too little. Smiling works!

Thanks. FWIW, I think he was just trying to be funny. He was joking about the stereotype of women who rescue cats, and then they end up with way too many cats....

Yeah, smiling (forces grin on face)
