Stolen shamelessly from Jaishi , here's a really pathetic attempt at a work review. Sadly I don't have most of my older work anymore, but here are a painting I did in high school (bad scans of bad photos, but it's what I have)
I went to JMU in Virginia. Grad school in NYC (NYU) but that's a whole different story. High school, I went to Herndon High in Virginia. Not too far from where you are.
Thanks for the compliments on the second painting. I still like it a lot, and I like to hang it up in the house to shock people (but right now everything is packed up so we can paint and fix the floors--how long have we been doing that? Oh, 2 years at least).
Hey Chicky, I don't consider this thievery at all =) Your work looks great! I especially like the ovai piece and the oil piece you did in college. I like the doodles you and Michael put together. It looks like you guys are telling a story in images...hmmm...
At anyrate, great art, keep progressing and we definitely have to do this again a year from now!!
The oval fairy is on wood actually. I like to paint on wood when I can and it makes a totally finished piece when I'm done. I get those little pieces from Michaels where the sides are routed, so it looks framed in a way.
Those doodles were so silly--Michael kept all the originals and mailed me a xerox, all on one page. But in reality, the doodles were on different pages as we took notes.
Yay! I think this is the first time I have even seen some of your work! You rock at paper cutting! Those are great! You should sneak some art in more often;)
I don't have a digital camera, so that discourages me some. I don't photograph my art with the regular camera, so unless I can scan it (and we know scans are often weird) I just don't post. I've done a ton of sculpy figures but don't post them for that reason.
Thanks for the compliments on the paper-cutting. It's something I really love.
I'm going to try. But it's hard sometimes, you know. I feel like I'm not so realistic (and I'm not trying for that honestly) but I don't know how it will go over sometimes.
