Tammy Grimes was arrested last September for rescuing a dog who was slowly dying while chained outside. Ms. Grimes took the dog Doogie to the vet after his owners could not be located and the local humane society had not responded. Doogie was unable to stand and was lying in a mixture of mud and feces. Though this life-saving action extended Doogie's life by several months, and during that time he experience loving care and indoor living for the first time in his life, he has since passed away.
Ms. Grimes was charged with theft for stepping in and taking a dog who would have been dead within an hour had she done nothing. When a concerned neighbor called Ms. Grimes for help they at first thought Doogie had already died. He was so emaciated, so still.

In short, Ms. Grimes has been found guilty on two counts, theft and receiving stolen property. Yet the people who callously left Doogie to die were never charged with anything. The court is acting like Ms. Grimes snatched a healthy, loved, and cared for dog from an adoring family. But nothing could be further from the truth.
She has also been ordered to remove everything about Doogie from her website.
